Avios Calculator: All Six Airlines, One Search

Compare Avios prices across all six Avios airlines at once — British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways and Loganair — for any route, any cabin, and any season. Each airline prices routes completely differently using its own zones, distances and peak calendars. The same flight can cost twice as many Avios depending on which airline you book through. No other tool shows you all six side by side.

How to use the Avios calculator

Type your departure airport and destination into the search boxes. You can search by city name or airport code. Results show every airline that flies the route, sorted cheapest first, with the Avios cost for each cabin class.

Use the Season toggle to switch between off-peak and peak pricing. Off-peak dates cost fewer Avios across most airlines, so if you have any flexibility with travel dates it is worth checking both. The Trip toggle shows one-way or return pricing. Returns are always exactly double the one-way Avios price, unless your trip straddles the peak/off-peak calendars.

The green Cheapest badge marks the lowest Avios cost for each cabin. The blue Direct badge shows when an airline flies the route without a hub connection. Use the Share button to copy a link to your exact search, or the WhatsApp button to send it to someone directly.

Which airlines use Avios?

Six airlines use Avios as their reward currency: British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways and Loganair. The calculator covers all six.

British Airways prices reward flights by distance from London. Iberia prices by distance from Madrid, and also covers Level long-haul flights from Barcelona. Aer Lingus uses zone-based pricing from Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Belfast. Finnair uses zone-based pricing from Helsinki. Qatar Airways uses zone-based pricing from Doha, with separate peak and off-peak rates. Loganair uses flat-rate pricing across UK domestic and select European routes.

Vueling also uses Avios but is not included. Vueling prices reward flights based on demand rather than a published chart, so there is nothing fixed to calculate from.

For connecting routes the calculator adds the Avios cost of each segment together. Where a cabin class is not available on the short-haul leg, it shows the mixed cabin cost with a note explaining the split.

Why Avios prices vary between airlines

Each airline sets its own pricing independently, using different methods and different hubs. This means the same city pair can cost very different amounts of Avios depending on which airline you book through.

For example, London to Bangkok costs 38,500 Avios one way in economy on BA, flying direct. Via Qatar through Doha it is 37,500. In business class the difference is much larger with BA charging 110,000 Avios, whilst Qatar charges 75,000. That is a saving of 35,000 Avios each way, or 70,000 on a return, for the same route in the same cabin.

How to get the best value from Avios

Always check more than one airline before booking. Iberia via Madrid is often significantly cheaper than BA on routes to the Americas. Qatar via Doha regularly undercuts everyone on routes to Asia, Africa and Australia.

Avios transfer freely between all six programmes at a 1:1 ratio through avios.com, with no fee. That means you can earn points wherever gives you the best rate and spend them through whichever airline offers the cheapest redemption on your route.

Finnair is worth knowing about for school holiday travel. It has no peak pricing at all. When BA, Iberia and Aer Lingus are charging peak rates during half-terms and summer, Finnair prices the same routes at exactly the same Avios cost as any other time of year.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transfer Avios between airlines?

Yes. Avios transfer freely and instantly between British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways, Loganair and Vueling at a 1:1 ratio with no fee. Link your accounts and transfer on the Move Avios page at avios.com.

Does this calculator show availability?

No. The calculator shows Avios pricing only, not whether seats are available on a given date. To search for available reward seats use ba.com for BA, Iberia and Aer Lingus; qatarairways.com for Qatar; finnair.com for Finnair; and loganair.co.uk for Loganair. Tools like point.me and Reward Flight Finder search across multiple airlines at once.

What are Avios peak and off-peak dates?

BA, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Qatar Airways all charge more Avios during peak travel periods. Each airline publishes its own calendar, and the dates are different between them — importantly, Iberia and Aer Lingus are often off-peak during British half-term holidays when BA is peak, which can save you thousands of Avios on the same route.

British Airways has peak dates spread across the year, with most falling around school holidays, Christmas and summer. See the full BA peak and off-peak dates for 2026.

Iberia publishes a peak calendar on their website. Go to the Iberia Avios booking page and look for "Plan your booking in advance" to find their calendar.

Aer Lingus uses a simpler calendar — peak covers Christmas, Easter and summer, with everything else off-peak. See the Aer Lingus 2026 peak calendar.

Finnair does not use peak and off-peak pricing. The Avios cost is the same year-round.

Qatar Airways does not publish a peak calendar, but peak dates roughly follow peak travel demand and school holidays. The uplift varies by route, ranging from around 14% on short-haul Gulf routes to over 50% on some long-haul routes.

Loganair does not use peak and off-peak pricing. The Avios cost is the same year-round.

Why does the calculator show connecting routes?

Most Avios airlines operate hub-and-spoke networks. If your route does not start or end at an airline's hub, you connect through it. The calculator adds the Avios cost of both segments together. Impractical connections are filtered out automatically.

Are taxes and fees included?

No. The calculator shows the Avios cost only. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are paid separately in cash and vary by airline, route and country of departure. These are shown at the point of booking on each airline's website.

What does "cabin mixing" mean?

When you book a connecting route in premium economy or business class, the short-haul segment may not offer that cabin. You fly the short-haul leg in the next cabin down and the long-haul leg in your chosen class. The Avios total reflects this, with a note explaining the breakdown, such as "Economy to Helsinki and Business onward".

Is this calculator official?

No. This is an independent tool built by Points Well Made. Pricing data is compiled from each airline's published charts and booking tools and updated regularly. Always confirm the final Avios cost on the airline's own website before booking. Prices can change without notice.

Can I use a BA companion voucher with these airlines?

The British Airways Amex companion voucher can be used on British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus flights booked through ba.com. It cannot be used on Finnair, Qatar Airways or Loganair.

Why is a route not showing any results?

The calculator only shows routes where at least one of the six Avios airlines operates or connects. If neither airport is served by any of the six networks, no results will appear. Try searching a nearby major airport instead. The calculator also filters out connecting routes where the detour would be excessive.
