Why hello there!
Welcome to Points Well Made.
We are Sam and Helena, a married couple from Hampshire, England, who just want to travel more!
We started Points Well Made through a sense of frustration. Our personal points journey is a relatively short one (so far) having been fortunate enough to start in 2019. Starting out with the free British Airways American Express and collecting points slowly but surely. People would ask us why we were paying for things with it.
We would then explain that for everything we spend, we earn Avios points, and ultimately we’ll be able to club them all together for a free flight! “That’s amazing, I never knew you could do that” is what they would all mostly say, and then they’d say “I should really be doing this…”
YES.
That disconnect between excitement and action - is what inspired us to build a platform that makes this world more accessible.
Since then, we’ve redeemed millions of points across multiple platforms, flown to dream destinations, and built a loyal audience who trust us to decode loyalty schemes, demystify credit cards, and share genuinely useful travel hacks.
This is why we decided to build the Points Well Made community, they're not just here for points - they’re here to travel more affordably, with less stress and more confidence. Our community wants to know how to visit new destinations without spending a fortune - whether that’s with Virgin Points, Avios, a flash deal, a smart package holiday, or flexible booking tools.
Our goal is simple: to make travel feel less intimidating and more attainable - especially for those just getting started.
We speak from experience, we keep things honest, and we love helping people turn their everyday spending into unforgettable travel. Because everyone deserves to tick off their bucket list destinations wherever they are in the world.
