British Airways are offering members of The BA Club an opportunity to significantly increase their Avios balance with a 40% bonus promotion running for one week only.
Seem familiar? Well it was only a a couple of months since the last sale.
But, I’ll give you my thoughts at the bottom, and how you could get up to a 70% bonus instead.

The British Airways Avios Sale Overview
Promotion Period: Now until Wednesday 17th September
Bonus Rate: 40% extra Avios on all purchases and gifts
Eligibility: British Airways Club members only
How It Works
During the British Airways Avios sale, every Avios purchase or gift transaction will automatically include a 40% bonus. This means purchasing 10,000 Avios will actually credit 14,000 Avios to the account, providing substantial additional value for those looking to top up their balances.

Key Benefits
For Personal Use: Members can boost their own Avios balance to reach reward flight thresholds or upgrade their travel plans with the enhanced purchasing power.
For Gifting: The promotion extends to Avios gifts, allowing members to purchase points for family, friends, or colleagues. Recipients must hold an active British Airways Club account with at least one Avios point already credited.
Annual Limit Protection: The bonus Avios do not count toward the standard annual purchase limit of 200,000 Avios, providing additional flexibility for high-volume users.

My Thoughts
This is going to be a two parter...
First, buying Avios won't be for everyone, sitting on huge hauls of Avios isn't something I'd generally recommend unless saving for that trip This could be good if you're a few thousand short and need a top up.
Second, Qatar Airways are also part of Avios and have been offering deals including a 50-70% bonus when buying Avios, or this one for a flat 60% bonus, and for those who don't know, any Avios in your Qatar account can be transferred to your BA Club account. So I'm genuinely a little bit confused as to why BA consistently offer bonuses under what Qatar offers. This is the problem with having a number of airlines operating under the same umbrella independently, they have competing interests. I imagine Qatar are just trying to drive as many people as possible to their Privilege Club, fine. But with instant transfer of Avios between airlines, doesn't this just undermine everyone else?
