If you’re passing through Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha and fortunate enough to access Qatar Airways’ Al Mourjan Garden Lounge, prepare yourself for an airport experience like no other.

Opened as part of the airport’s expansion in 2022, this lounge sets a new global standard for luxury, space, and serenity in air travel.
Sam and I were lucky enough to utilise the lounge when we fly with Qatar Airways to and from New Zealand earlier this year and being able to chill here for a period of time was so appreciated and enjoyed by us both. Welcome to our review of the glorious Al Mourjan Garden Lounge.
Location and Access: A Hidden Oasis in Concourse C
The Al Mourjan Garden Lounge is located in Concourse C of the newly expanded terminal, above the Orchard – the airport’s stunning indoor tropical garden. Honestly, my breath was taken away by how beautiful this indoor garden is.

Access is exclusive to Qatar Airways and oneworld business class passengers. Travellers with oneworld status do not get access to this lounge without a business class ticket. This lounge provides Doha with a huge increase in business class lounge capacity, with the original Al Mourjan Lounge near Concourse A struggling to cope with Qatar Airways' demand. The Al Mourjan Garden Lounge is a bit confusing to find, but you need to head towards the Orchard end of the airport, and look for a set of four lifts after the monorail, behind a velvet rope.
Once inside, the contrast between the hustle of the terminal and the tranquillity of the lounge is immediate. If you’re transiting through Doha, especially during the peak night-time hours, this lounge offers a welcome escape.
Design and Atmosphere: A Modern Masterpiece
Architecturally, the Al Mourjan Garden Lounge is nothing short of breathtaking.
With floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking the lush indoor forest of the Orchard, the space is flooded with natural light by day and ambient serenity by night.

High ceilings, expansive open-plan seating, and soft lighting make it feel more like a five-star hotel lobby than an airport lounge. The use of natural tones throughout give the space an aura of calmness which is the polar opposite of how the terminal was when we transited through it!

The design blends modern Qatari elegance with cutting-edge minimalism. There’s an impressive mix of social seating areas, quiet nooks, workspaces, and even semi-private relaxation zones. The sense of space is rare in any airport, let alone a lounge.
Dining: Restaurant-Quality Food in the Sky
One of the standout features of the Al Mourjan Garden Lounge is its a la carte restaurant. Unlike the buffet-style offering found in many premium lounges, this is a seated dining experience with a full menu and attentive service.
Don't get me wrong, there is also a buffet area to utilise, but the sit-down-menu experience really is fantastic.
Expect dishes like grilled sea bass, lamb tagine, or a classic Arabic mezze platter, all beautifully presented. I urge you to have the hummus and flat breads, they really were fantastic.

For those in a rush or just looking for something lighter, there are gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, and barista-made coffee available throughout the lounge.

Drinks are plentiful, whether that is self-served wine, cocktails, beers, or their famous lemon and mint drink. Again I urge you to try this concoction, it really is a treat.

Facilities: Everything You Need (And More)
Qatar Airways has not held back when it comes to amenities. Key highlights include:
First up, and my favourite thing about this lounge were the showers. Two sets, one and one for women. You essentially check-in at a desk where they log you into a system with your boarding pass. You are then given a number which corresponds to which cubicle you are meant to use.
When you get into the shower room you are met with a lovely sink area, a bench area for your bag (or to sit) and the shower. Towels are hung up for you already and the room is filled to the brim with Diptyque amenities.

Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel, hand soap. Some of which are in mini bottles which I absolutely took home with me!
Being able to use a gorgeous shower facility like this between long flights, especially the Doha to New Zealand leg and vice versa on the way back which is 15 hours, felt like such a luxury.
Inside the lounge there is also a Louis Vuitton lounge. Whilst it is free to enter this is not free to eat in! A word of warning for you!

There are also dedicated quiet areas and semi private pods for rest, a fully equipped business centre area with a meeting room. Prayer rooms and accessible facilities plus a gym and a spa!

Yup, this lounge comes with it's own Dior spa! Did I have a treatment, no! Did I want to... absolutely! The spa menu can be found here with a range of treatments and times between 15 and 45 minutes.
Wi-Fi is always an important aspect of a lounge and I'm delighted to say that it was fast, free, and reliable – something many lounges still fail to get right.

Service: Discreet and Impeccable
From the moment you arrive, the service in the Al Mourjan Garden Lounge is seamless. Staff are welcoming but unobtrusive, with a quiet professionalism that lets you relax without feeling constantly watched or approached. Tables are cleared quickly, requests are met promptly, and every interaction feels polished.

Just to compare it once again to a hotel, the staff here are like the staff of a 5* hotel. They anticipate your needs before you do, but it all goes on in the background without you ever realising.
When to Visit: Best Times for a Calm Experience
Doha airport can be exceptionally busy, particularly during Doha airports three big banks of flights, when most long-haul connections pass through. The lounge is vast, and thankfully it swallows up large quantities of visitors easily so it rarely feels busy. The restaurant may have a short wait during peak hours, though service remains efficient.

Verdict, Is Al Mourjan Garden Lounge Review 2025: The Best Business Class Lounge in the World?
In a word: yes.
The Al Mourjan Garden Lounge is not just a lounge – it’s an experience. With stunning architecture, premium dining, thoughtful amenities, and a true sense of calm, it redefines what travellers can expect from airport hospitality.
For anyone flying Qatar Airways business class through Doha, this lounge is reason enough to look forward to the layover. From showers, to a gym, from exceptional food to a spa facility. Regardless of your layover time, this is a lounge you won't want to leave.
