BA Holidays offer: Pay with Avios is worth 33% more until 13 October
The weather has turned, and it's already too cold for me. I'm not built for winter. I need a holiday.
Conveniently (for me at least), BA Holidays has brought back its Pay with Avios boost. Until 23:59 on Tuesday 13 October, British Airways Club members get 33% more value from their Avios when they use them as part payment on a package.
This time the offer is for holidays between 5 January and 30 September 2027. If you were hoping to knock some money off using Avios for a Christmas or New Year trip, sorry.

What BA says you'll save
BA's own example is a 7-night Tenerife holiday with economy flights. Normally, 57,000 Avios would take £228 off the price. During the offer, to save £228 that would cost you 42,750 Avios.
That works out that you're getting 0.4p of value per Avios normally, and 0.53p during the offer.
But we ran the numbers just to be sure, and there is a bit of variation. Some good, and some less good.
What it looks like on a short-haul booking
Here's a seven night Tenerife trip in early February 2027: two passengers on BA Euroflyer (the name BA gives it's Gatwick operation), staying at the RF Astoria in Puerto de la Cruz. It's the same hotel we searched in May because that seems fairest, and the total comes to £833.

As you search, or at the basket stage, you'll see the "Avios worth 33% more on holidays" line in red if the holiday you're searching is compatible with this offer.
Here are the Pay with Avios options for this holiday:
Avios used | Cash off | Value per Avios |
2,780 | £33 | 1.19p |
6,620 | £60 | 0.91p |
11,345 | £87 | 0.77p |
18,080 | £120 | 0.66p |
42,565 | £227 | 0.53p |
56,250 | £300 | 0.53p |
75,000 | £400 | 0.53p |
99,940 | £533 | 0.53p |
156,190 | £833 | 0.53p |
What you'll see is that if you spend fewer Avios, you'll see that the value you get goes up. The smallest option is worth more than double, and a tad better than the 1.13p we saw on this hotel in May.
What it looks like on a long-haul booking
For comparison, we also searched seven nights at ROW NYC in Times Square, with two passengers flying British Airways from Heathrow to JFK. The total is £1,947, which includes £243 of fees you'll have to pay at the hotel, because nothing screams land of the free like tax!
Avios used | Cash off | Value per Avios |
4,400 | £42 | 0.95p |
10,780 | £85 | 0.79p |
25,990 | £170 | 0.65p |
38,580 | £232 | 0.60p |
57,350 | £317 | 0.55p |
88,900 | £486 | 0.55p |
127,500 | £697 | 0.55p |
193,170 | £1,056 | 0.55p |
239,716 | £1,310 | 0.55p |
It's similar, but the value floor is slightly higher at 0.55p compared to Tenerife's 0.53p per Avios. But just as noticeable is that the top end is lower, so the best you'll get here is just under 1p of value per Avios.
Why the value varies so much
BA structures Pay with Avios on a sliding scale. The per-Avios value drops sharply as you spend more Avios on a single booking. This is deliberate as BA wants you to use small amounts of Avios, not wipe out the whole bill with a huge points spend, because they still want some of your cash!
So the question you should be asking yourself is, "what's the value of the exact option I'm looking at?" As we often do, we've quickly made a calculator for you which will tell you if you're getting good value, because I feel that's the best way of showing you.
It gives you one of four colour-coded verdicts:
Excellent: above 1p per Avios, comparable to a reward flight redemption.
Solid: 0.7p to 1p.
Mediocre: 0.5p to 0.7p.
Poor: below 0.5p, where you'd be better off converting to Nectar.
It also shows what the same option would have been worth without the boost.
For context, if you were to use our British Airways Avios Value tool, you'd see that above 1p is the sort of value you'd aim for on an outright Avios booking. The lowest floor you should ever consider is 0.5p, which is what you'd get by converting Avios into Nectar points.
Who is eligible for this offer
You need to be:
18 or over and a UK resident.
A British Airways Club member with at least 1,000 Avios in your account.
The package has to be a flight plus hotel and/or car hire, booked in one transaction at a single price. The first flight has to depart from the UK. It can't be combined with any other BA Holidays offer.
How to book
Log in to your British Airways Club account and search for a BA Holidays package. The boosted Avios part-payment options are applied automatically on the "Add Extras" page.
You can also book by phone, but who makes phone calls these days?
Bookings need to be made by 23:59 on Tuesday 13 October, for travel between 5 January and 30 September 2027.
Even when you pay part of the price with Avios, you still collect bonus Avios and tier points on the entirety of the package.
Verdict: spend less, get more
You're still likely to get better value booking a reward flight and a hotel separately. But a lot of you are too busy, or can't find the reward availability you want. A BA Holiday also earns you Avios and tier points, which a reward booking doesn't, and it's getting to that point of the year where a lot of you are trying to squeeze out as many tier points as you can to make Silver.
My advice is the same as in May: only part with the smaller amounts of Avios. On both bookings, the first two or three options were where the value was. After that, every extra Avios was worth roughly the same as a Nectar point.
I think it's time to look for a holiday myself!
Or if that was enough detail for you, you can search and book a BA Holiday here.
