Brewdog Opens Bar in the BA Gatwick Club Lounge

One for my dad... British Airways has unveiled a new development in their partnership with craft brewery BrewDog, introducing a unique self-service beer bar on the mezzanine floor of its Club Lounge at Gatwick Airport. The collaboration has already produced the exclusive British Airways beer – Speedbird OG, a "transatlantic IPA", already available in BA's lounges, or on-board in can form.

The "pour-your-own" concept allows eligible passengers to take control of their pre-flight refreshment, selecting from beers including BrewDog's signature Punk IPA and the tropical-inspired session IPA, Wingman, available on draught. Unfortunately, the Speedbird IPA will not be available on draft. This first-of-its-kind (for BA) airport lounge experience invites travellers to pull up a bar stool and practice their bartending skills while awaiting departure.

Though, always drink responsibly when flying, and remember you have a flight to catch!

IndiGo Announces Daily London Heathrow Service Launch for October 2025

IndiGo, the Indian low-cost carrier, and largest airline, has revealed plans to launch daily flights to London Heathrow Airport, marking a significant expansion of its European network as the airline celebrates its 19th anniversary. The new service is scheduled to commence on October 26, 2025, pending regulatory approval, though the carrier has yet to specify which Indian city will serve as the origin point for the Heathrow route.

CEO Pieter Elbers expressed enthusiasm for the announcement on August 4th, stating the airline is "delighted to announce our next strides in international markets, especially our daily, direct flights to London Heathrow," while emphasising IndiGo's commitment to expanding globally "one airport at a time."

The launch comes as IndiGo prepares to bolster its long-haul capabilities with five additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft set to join the fleet this financial year through a damp-lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways. This strategic move positions IndiGo to compete more aggressively in the lucrative India-UK travel market, offering passengers another option for direct connectivity between the two countries.

IndiGo's first UK destination was Manchester, having already commenced flights between the North and Mumbai.

Norse Atlantic to Temporarily Increase Gatwick-Bangkok

Norse Atlantic are set to enhance their popular Gatwick to Bangkok route during Spring 2026, adding a fifth weekly flight from 21st March to 12th April.

The expanded service will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays using the airline's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with flight Z0791 departing London Gatwick at 4:00 PM and arriving in Bangkok at 9:25 AM the following day, while the return flight Z0792 leaves Bangkok at 11:30 AM and touches down at Gatwick at 6:30 PM the same day.

This temporary schedule boost reflects growing demand for travel between the UK and Thailand, and coincides with UK school Easter holidays.
