Emirates has just announced they're adding a fourth daily flight between Dubai and London Gatwick from 8th February 2026, and this is genuinely exciting news for UK-based frequent flyers.

The new EK069/070 service to Gatwick will be operated by Emirates' latest Airbus A350s, and these aircraft represent a significant upgrade from their tired and disappointing Boeing 777's that we flew on.

The Timings Are Actually Quite Clever

EK069 departs Dubai at 5:05pm, landing at Gatwick at 8:50pm. The return leg, EK070, leaves Gatwick at the rather antisocial hour of 11:55pm, touching down in Dubai at 11:00am the next morning.

Now, that late departure might not suit everyone, but there's actually solid logic behind it. This is the last flight out of both cities in either direction, which means you can make the most of your day. Want to extend your time in Dubai before heading home? Perfect. Need to fit in final meetings or activities? No problem. It's the kind of flexibility that frequent travellers really appreciate.

Gatwick is hugely popular with travellers on the South Coast of England, and offers arriving travellers great access to central London with trains operating directly to Victoria and London Bridge. But this new flight offers something that Heathrow can't. Heathrow has very strict night-time restrictions, severely limiting the amount of flights that can operate between 11pm and 6am. Gatwick does not have this same limitation, and so its great to see Emirates offer travellers this broad range of timings.

With this fourth Gatwick service, Emirates will operate 12 daily flights across Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted. That's impressive capacity, and it provides excellent flexibility whether you're trying to find convenient departure times, or the best possible passenger experience.

Gatwick also becomes the second UK destination to receive the A350 after Edinburgh.

The Emirates A350 Is Genuinely Impressive

Emirates has configured these A350-900s in a three-class layout:

  • 32 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout (direct aisle access for every passenger)

  • 28 Premium Economy seats (a welcome middle-ground option)

  • 238 Economy seats (with improved comfort and features)

Emirates' A350s represent the pinnacle of the airline's fleet thanks to their cutting-edge design that prioritizes passenger comfort and modern technology above all else. The aircraft features 32 next-generation Business Class lie-flat seats in a superior 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring every passenger has direct aisle access - a significant upgrade from the cramped 2-3-2 layouts found on many of Emirates' 777s.

Premium Economy on Emirates' A350

With Emirates' premium economy cabin featuring just 21 seats in a spacious 2-3-2 configuration, the A350 offers a more intimate and exclusive experience than the carrier's larger aircraft. The A350 also delivers better cabin pressure, reduced jetlag, and greater humidity levels compared to the A380, the latest generation interiors, that make it the most advanced and passenger-friendly option in Emirates' enormous fleet.

The Bottom Line

This is a genuinely positive development for Emirates' network. Additional frequency means more options for travellers, and the A350 product represents a clear upgrade over older aircraft configurations.

For those collecting Emirates Skywards miles or working towards elite status, this new service opens up additional earning opportunities. While award availability on Emirates can be challenging, having more flights in the schedule generally increases your chances of finding redemption options when they do become available.
