JP Morgan has an offer handing new customers 10,000 Avios for putting £500 into an investment account. That's double the 5,000 they usually offer for the same thing.
The one thing to know up front: your £500 goes into an investment account, not a savings account. So it's worth reading the line below before you start.
As with all investing, your capital is at risk. The value of your investment can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you invest. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and ISA, Junior ISA, Lifetime ISA and pension rules apply, all of which can change.

With that out of the way, here's how it works. If you're new to all this and not sure what Avios actually get you, our free Avios guide covers the basics.
Just a quick heads-up: Points Well Made is here to dish out the juicy details on miles and points, but we’re not your financial advisers. Any decisions you make regarding products featured on this site are your own responsibility, and you should always consider whether a product suits your personal circumstances. While we chat about all manner of lender goodies, we’re not a lender ourselves. Remember, you know you best.
What's on offer
10,000 Avios for opening a JP Morgan Personal Investing account and investing £500. This offer is available to new clients only, so if you held one of these accounts before (including back when it was Nutmeg), you're out.
You'll also need:
A British Airways Club account - you put your membership number into the registration form, so have it ready before you start.
To be a UK resident and not a US person for tax purposes.
The £500 has to go into an actual investment product, so either a:
Stocks and Shares ISA
Lifetime ISA
Junior ISA
Personal Pension
General Investment Account
Leaving it sitting in a 100%-cash pot doesn't count.
How to claim it
Register for the offer on JP Morgan's website and enter your British Airways Club number.
Open an account using the same email address you registered with.
Invest £500 or more in one payment by 31 July 2026. Not £250 twice, not spread across two products. One payment.
Leave at least £500 invested from 1 August 2026 until 1 February 2027.
Transfers in from another provider don't count.

The timeline, and getting your £500 back
The 10,000 Avios are a sign-up bonus. You're not buying them, and the £500 isn't a fee, as it's your own money going into your own account. All you're agreeing to is leaving it invested for a set window.
To put it plainly:
Invest your £500 by 31 July 2026.
Keep at least £500 invested from 1 August 2026 until 1 February 2027.
From 1 February 2027 the holding requirement is over, so you're free to withdraw the £500 if you want it back. A Stocks and Shares ISA or General Investment Account lets you do that. A pension, Lifetime ISA or Junior ISA has its own rules on when you can take money out (a Junior ISA, for instance, is locked until the child turns 18), so pick the product with that in mind.
The Avios land within 55 days of the holding period ending, so around late March 2027.
One good thing is that if your balance dips below £500 purely because the market moved, you still qualify. You only lose the offer if you take money out, transfer out, or close the account before 1 February 2027.
As for fees, JP Morgan charges an annual management fee. It's 0.75% a year on the Fully Managed style and less on Fixed Allocation, on top of the underlying fund costs. The fee is a percentage of your balance, so the exact figure moves with your investment.
What 10,000 Avios is worth
10,000 Avios covers a one-way short-haul reward flight in economy with change to spare, or goes towards something larger in a premium cabin. Our Avios calculator shows what they're worth across every Avios airline.
At 10,000 Avios on offer, this bonus is double the usual sign-up bonus of 5,000 Avios.
