Here's the full list of hotel statuses you get with an Amex Platinum

Earlier in the month, Amex added ALL Accor as a transfer partner allowing you to move and spend your Membership Reward points on hotels with the Accor group.
Building on that initial partnership, Accor Gold membership has now been added as a feature for Amex Platinum cardholders. That takes you from four free hotel statuses to five, and it gave us a reason to do something we'd been meaning to anyway: go back through the whole list!
So if you're holding the Amex Platinum, here's the full set of hotel statuses that you get as it stands now.
The five statuses, and what each one gets you
Hilton Honors Gold
Hilton (Hilton, DoubleTree, Hampton, Conrad, Waldorf Astoria and more) gives you gold, which is middle tier in the Hilton Honors system. For holding Gold, when you stay at a Hilton family hotel you get:
Free breakfast for two, every morning (a food and drink credit instead at US hotels)
An 80% bonus on the points you earn on a stay
A room upgrade when available, usually a higher floor or nicer view
Late check-out, when available
If you were to earn this the hard way, this is worth 40 nights per year.
MeliáRewards Gold
Meliá is a Spanish hotel group (Meliá, INNSiDE, Tryp, Sol, ME) so naturally they're strongest in Spain, the Canaries and the Caribbean. Gold is the third of their four tiers. You get:
Three vouchers a year for 20% off a stay. They stack on top of whatever sale Meliá is already running, so a discounted room gets discounted again (the biggest perk of this partnership)
Late check-out: 4pm at city hotels, 2pm at resorts (when available)
13 points per euro instead of 10
A free breakfast for whoever you're travelling with, when you buy your own
ALL Accor Gold
Accor is a huge French hotel group, and you've probably stayed in one of their hotels even if you haven't realised it as Accor contains Ibis, Novotel, Mercure, Pullman, Sofitel, among others. Gold is mid-tier getting you:
A welcome drink on arrival
A 50% bonus on the points you earn
A room upgrade, early check-in and late check-out, like all of the above, when available
Radisson Rewards Premium
Radisson offers you Premium which is a mid-tier status in their system. You get:
The Discount Booster: switch it on and you take fewer points on a stay in exchange for up to 20% off your member rate (definitely worth it if you don't stay in Radisson branded hotels very often)

Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite
Marriott is the biggest hotel group in the world (Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, St Regis, Ritz-Carlton, W, Le Méridien, Moxy and dozens more). Despite its name, Gold Elite sits low in its ladder getting you:
A 25% bonus on points
A room upgrade when available
A 2pm check-out, again, when available
Faster WIFI and a small pot of welcome points per stay
So which is the best Amex Platinum hotel status?
If you get round to only signing up for one, make it Hilton. Free breakfast for you and a companion is the strongest tangible benefit, and I'd be lying if I said that we hadn't stayed in more Hilton's because of it.
Meliá is an underrated hotel group in my opinion, with our stays consistently beating expectation, plus you can stack a solid discount on top of any discount they're offering. Accor is definitely worth signing up, a) because it's new, b) 50% points bonus is a solid offering, c) exceptionally wide footprint in the UK and Europe.
Radisson and Marriott are the weakest of the five. But regardless of what I said about signing up for one, I'd be signing up for all of them. You never know the upgrade that may be in store if you do.
