Virgin and Tesco are currently offering 5,000 bonus Virgin Points to anyone who signs up to auto-exchange their Tesco Clubcard points into Virgin Points for the very first time. The deadline is 25th January 2026.
Why This Is Worth Doing (Even If You’re Not Ready to Travel)
If you shop at Tesco and collect Clubcard points, this is a genuinely generous offer. By simply enabling auto-exchange, you’ll receive 5,000 Virgin Points on top of your usual conversions.
Those points can be used for flights with Virgin Atlantic and partner airlines, upgrades, hotel stays, experiences, cruises and more. Better still, Virgin Points never expire, so there’s no pressure to redeem them straight away.
How to Secure the 5000 Free Virgin Points with Tesco Clubcard
To qualify for the bonus, you need to tick all three of the following boxes:
Sign up for automatic Clubcard-to-Virgin Points exchange for the first time before 25th January 2026
Keep auto-exchange switched on until 25th January 2026
Have at least 250 Clubcard points in your account on 25th January 2026
If you meet all of the above, the 5,000 bonus Virgin Points will be credited to your Virgin Red account by 22nd February 2026.

A Very Important Catch
This bonus is strictly for first-time auto-exchange users. If you’ve ever signed up for auto-exchange before, even if it’s no longer active, you won’t qualify. The same applies if someone else in your Clubcard household has previously set it up. Unfortunately, it’s one bonus per household.
How to Set Up Auto-Exchange
Setting this up takes just a few minutes:
Go to the Tesco Clubcard website and select Clubcard Account
Choose Clubcard management, then click Voucher schemes
Select Virgin Points and enter your Virgin Atlantic membership number
Once that’s done, your Clubcard points will automatically convert into Virgin Points whenever you meet the minimum threshold.
Manual vs Auto-Exchange: What’s the Difference?
Even without the bonus, converting Clubcard points into Virgin Points can be great value.
Manual exchange: Convert in increments of £1.50, earning 300 Virgin Points per £1.50
Auto-exchange: Requires a minimum of 250 Clubcard points (£2.50) to start, earning 500 Virgin Points
Once auto-exchange is active, points will continue converting automatically in smaller increments. If you need Virgin Points urgently between statement periods, you can also manually exchange a minimum of 150 Clubcard points instantly, as long as auto-exchange is switched on.
