Oops, we appear to have booked another trip!

For once though, we have managed to pull off a last minute trip. Usually we plan these things months, sometimes years, in advance. Instead we have planned and created this one in the space of five weeks.

The Trip Preview: Thailand and Singapore

This trip is a mixture of work, and pleasure, as you will see from the below plan. It is first and foremost a holiday, but we will be utilising the flights, hotels and general activities to create some lovely content for you guys!

First Class Avios Redemption with British Airways

We are starting off our Points Well Made journey with a bang having booked British Airways First Class on a Avios redemption. We will be flying from Heathrow to Singapore on a Boeing 787-9, as well as making sure we leave plenty of time to explore the Concorde Lounge. Neither of us have ever flown First Class before and to say this is a dream come true is the understatement of the century! This sort of thing would never be possible for us without the wonderful world of points and Avios, and it’s these incredibly special flights we get to do that always make us think “anyone can do this too” and that really is what we want to show you.

Sam emailed the You First team ahead of time, and managed to grab a copy of the menu onboard. Let us know what you would have!

Back to the trip! Once in Singapore, we will then be hot footing it (the next day that is) to Koh Samui in Thailand. We’re flying Scoot for this section of the journey, and then getting a boat to our first destination where we are staying.

An Active Week in Koh Tao

We will be in Koh Tao for six nights staying at Ban’s Diving Resort. Sam will be spending plenty of time scuba diving, whereas I am going to be rolling out my yoga mat at Living Juices followed by a smoothie bowl at their café downstairs! If anyone has any food recommendations whilst we are in Koh Tao please do let us know, as we love our food and always like to try new things.

Koh Tao Island
Koh Tao is legendary for its Scuba Diving, as well as its yoga scene.

Koh Samui Time

After six nights in Koh Tao we are then getting the boat back to Koh Samui for three nights at The Lamai. This is going to be a slower paced few nights, with plenty of swimming, relaxing and eating! We are well aware that Koh Samui is having a bit of a “moment” thanks to the third season of The White Lotus, which we still haven’t watched but really need to. Yes we looked at the Four Seasons as a hotel option, yes it turned out to be far too expensive but we think we have found an absolute gem with The Lamai and the room we have booked. We will do a full review of the room after the trip and I don’t want to give anything away but let’s just say my jaw dropped to the floor that not only was this room as beautiful as it is, but also the fact it was within our budget!

The Lamai is a stunning hotel, which we are very lucky to be staying at for three nights

Time to explore Singapore

After relaxing thoroughly in Koh Samui, and of course doing as much exploring as possible we are zooming back to Singapore with Bangkok Airways. We will be here for three nights where Sam’s plan is to take me to all the best Hawkers so that we can eat our body weight multiple times in chicken rice! I am very excited to get to see the Gardens by the Bay, and just to explore this incredible place. It’s been on the bucket list for years.

The famous Gardens by the Bay can be visited both during the day and once the sun goes down for an incredible light show at 7:45pm and 8:45pm every day

Flying home with Emirates

Then, after almost two weeks away we will be having a little exploration of Changi airport and flying home to London Gatwick with Emirates via Dubai (with a very short layover of one hour) on a Boeing 777 and then an Airbus A380. Naturally I am very excited about the A380 as it is my favourite plane of all time. I am a plane geek and I have no shame in it! Saying that the A220 is also gorgeous and the complete opposite end of the Airbus spectrum, but that’s a discussion for another time!! Perhaps we should do a post on all the different Airbus planes … including the Beluga. Google her!

We will of course be posting and sharing bits and bobs on Instagram and Facebook so please do go and follow us there if you want to keep up to date with the trip.
