I love flying! Ok, so, not totally true as I hate turbulence, despite knowing scientifically how it works, and I get nervous around take off and landing!
However … I love everything else about flying. I love getting to the airport early and mooching about, I love getting on that plane and finding my seat. I even love the smell of fresh-new boarding pass! But most of all I love trying new airlines and new products.
There is of course something to be said about brand loyalty, frequent flyer points are exceedingly useful, as are the Tier Points which all airlines do differently. But, as a certified plane nerd, here are four airlines I have yet to fly, but would very much love to. This isn’t just about the destinations they serve, but for the food, experience and product!
Singapore Airlines - Five-Star Luxury
If there’s one airline that consistently tops the rankings, it’s Singapore Airlines. I haven’t stepped onboard (yet!), but everything I’ve read and seen screams sophistication. Immaculate cabins, some of the kindest crew in the industry, and a reputation for getting everything right.

What I’m dreaming of: Their legendary Suites Class — actual private rooms in the sky. Like, with a proper bed. And a door. This isn’t a flight, it’s a flying five-star hotel.

Why it’s on my list: The food is supposedly incredible, the service sounds flawless, and even economy looks better than most premium cabins. For a long-haul trip, this is my ultimate goal.

ANA (All Nippon Airways) — Zen in the Skies
I’ve never flown ANA, but every time I see photos of their cabins, I just know that a great experience is awaiting anyone lucky enough to fly with them, clean, minimal, and perfectly Japanese — ANA looks like the kind of airline where the moment you board, your stress just dissolves.
What I’m dreaming of: Their business class product called “The Room” is a total game-changer — huge seats, privacy galore, and a sleek, elegant design. It’s giving luxury apartment energy.

Why it’s on my list: I’d love to try their Japanese in-flight meals (hello, Kaiseki service) and experience the impeccable attention to detail that Japanese hospitality is known for. One day I’ll take that Tokyo-bound flight and live my best bento-box-in-the-sky life. Honestly, the food really is one of the main reasons I want to fly with them! If there is anything that almost rivals my love of flying … it’s my love of food!

Etihad Airways — The Flying Palace
If we’re talking luxury, Etihad takes things to another level. Their top-tier product, “The Residence,” literally has a living room, bed, and your own shower in the sky. No, I haven’t experienced it (yet), but that doesn’t stop me from watching YouTube videos and gasping.

What I’m dreaming of: Their business class looks like first — with sliding privacy doors and the possibility of your own chef preparing meals just how you like them. But even their Economy makes me want to sign up for the longest-haul flight possible!
Why it’s on my list: The Middle Eastern hospitality, the opulence, the attention to detail — I just know the whole experience would be a “pinch me” moment from boarding to landing. If it is anything like Qatar Airways (and yeah, I probably shouldn’t be comparing them) then it would be fantastic.
Emirates — Because Why Not Fly with a Chandelier?
I haven’t been lucky enough to fly Emirates yet, although we have one way flight booked in Economy in May which I am excited to experience and review for you … but from everything I’ve seen, they’re the definition of “extra” — and I mean that in the best way possible.

What I’m dreaming of: Eventually … First class on their A380. It is legendary — private suites and an onboard shower! There is also a bar, but then again there is a bar on the Qatar Airways A380 which we have been lucky enough to experience and yes, it was one of the coolest things ever!
Equally, I have heard fantastic things about economy with Emirates. There is a reason why people are brand loyal to them, and Sam even says it is the best economy he has ever flown! So I am very excited to give this whirl.

Why it’s on my list: Funnily enough it isn’t the interiors, as I personally feel they look cheap and tacky! Too much gold and tortoiseshell everywhere! The list is long with this one, so to keep it snappy it really is the reputation it has built itself, the food and the experience. I want to know why it is people RAVE about Emirates in every cabin.
So, there you have it. My four top airlines that I haven’t flown but really want to. Whether it’s for the service, the food, or the sheer over-the-top fabulousness, each of these airlines offers an experience I’d love to have at least once in my life.
Until then, I’ll keep reading reviews, watching YouTube cabin tours, and planning those dream itineraries. If you've flown on any of these, tell me everything. And if you’re dreaming right along with me — which airline is on your list?
