Remember when Virgin Atlantic paused ticket sales for their Seoul route back in July, citing "pending South Korean permit approvals" and posting that playful "Seoul's calling – just not quite yet" message? Well, Seoul is apparently calling Virgin Atlantic now, because tickets are finally – sort of on sale.

Virgin Atlantic advertisement for flights to Seoul. Text highlights sale, cultural blend, and daily flights starting March 29, 2026. Red search button.

And we do mean sort of. The new daily service launches on 29 March 2026, with fares starting from £799 in Economy, £1,493 in Premium, and £3,113 in Upper Class. You can book with cash right now. Virgin Points? Not so much. Award availability isn't showing up yet, so if you were hoping to redeem your hard-earned points for this route, you'll need to keep waiting. We have reached out to Virgin Atlantic asking when this may, so will update you in due course.

The Details

Virgin will operate the route daily using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners configured with 31 Upper Class (in the old "toast-rack" variant), 35 Premium Economy, and 192 Economy seats. The flight times are:

VS208: Depart Heathrow 9:45am - Arrive Seoul 6:05am

VS209: Depart Seoul 8:35am - Arrive Heathrow 3:05pm

About Time!

It's been quite the wait. Virgin first announced the route in April of this year as a consequence of the Korean Air-Asiana merger and the UK Competition and Markets Authority's insistence on maintaining competition on the London-Seoul route. Tickets were supposed to go on sale in May 2025, then came the pause while Virgin sorted out some hurdles.

This marks Virgin Atlantic's return to the Far East after ending services to Hong Kong and Shanghai post-pandemic. Let's just hope this one doesn't end up joining Accra on the growing pile of cancelled Virgin routes.

But for now, at least, the tickets are on sale, kinda.

The approvals are presumably in place.

The flights are actually happening.

Let's see if they make it to March 2026 without any more "final touches" needed.
