We've updated the Avios Calculator: updated routes, nearby airports, your Avios balance, Barclays vouchers, and more!
In May this year we launched our Avios calculator because, honestly, finding the prices of Avios flights, and then comparing the prices was just too much hassle. There was no one tool where you could directly compare the prices across all the Avios airlines (British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Qatar Airways, Finnair, and Loganair), which is why we made one to tell you how much any flight would cos in Avios.
That was a good first attempt, let's call it, but we've now decided to improve it in certain areas with this latest update.
What's changed to the Avios Calculator?
First, and I would say most importantly, all routes have been checked and updated. If you've always wanted to fly between Damascus and Philadelphia using Avios, Qatar Airways are now able to assist you.
Second, the user interface is sleeker and quicker to respond. It's a bit nicer to the eye, with a more balanced design, and less mid-2000s Powerpoint vibes.

Additional functionality
In terms of additional functionality, under 'advanced options' you can now put in how many Avios you have and the calculator will be able to work out if you can afford a certain route. You already had the options for BA Amex Companion Vouchers, being able to select the voucher from the Premium Plus card or the free version because that restricts which cabins you can fly in. It also now includes the Barclays cabin upgrade vouchers as well.

If you try to select the both a Companion Voucher and a Cabin Upgrade Voucher, you are unable to do so, as you are not able to stack these in one booking.
For the below result, you will see that by telling the Avios Calculator you have 50,000 Avios, it shows you which cabins you can afford airline by airline. As one Cabin Upgrade Voucher has been selected, you will notice the British Airways Avios price in Premium and Business has been reduced accordingly.

Next new feature: If you are making a search and the airport that you have originally selected (in this case, Glasgow) has a cheaper option nearby within 3 hours, then the calculator will suggest those airports for you.

Lastly you are now able to search a broader range of airports across the world. If the airport you have selected is not served by an Avios airline, again you will get results for airports within a 3-hour drive radius of your desired destination, like this search from London to Stuttgart.

That's all the changes I've got for now. Anything else you want to see added or changed? Please do let us know either in the comments of this article, DM us on Instagram, or email me as well.
I hope you continue to enjoy using the Avios Calculator because I can see from the stats alone that it's a popular little tool.
You can access our Avios Calculator tool here, or at the top, go to 'Guide and Tools' and you'll find it there.
