So, you have a burning questions for us? Which airlines can I earn British Airways Tier Points on? It’s not that it’s complicated, it’s just a tiny bit hard to wrap your head around. We get it!

With some partner airlines your Tier Points will be calculated in the same way as British Airways, based on the price of your ticket. Easy to understand, nothing to worry about here.
However, British Airways don’t like to do things simply! So, for some Partner Airlines it will be based on the cabin, the booking class and a percentage of the miles flown.
Thankfully, we aren’t expected to do any maths in this, or to guess the percentages. They have, fortunately, provided an in depth web page that mentions each fare on each airline.
There are some caveats to be aware of such as the majority of the airlines stating that discounted economy flights may well earn fewer Tier Points depending on the fare charged. But that is just something to be aware of.
But what is a British Airways Tier Point?
An excellent question! Tier points are the points that you can earn to progress through the different tiers of the British Airways Club. By doing so you unlock a host of benefits including lounger access, priority check in and seat selection. Keep an eye out on the blog for a guide on what you get for each Tier, which we will be posting soon.
So, let’s go through each airline:
Aer Lingus

Caveat: Discount economy flights may earn fewer Tier Points depending on the fare purchased
Alaska Airlines

From 1 April 2025, Tier points will be based on total eligible spend for your flight tickets and any qualifying add-ons.

(Also important to note that their International Flights operate differently to Domestic Flights when it comes to Tier Points, but they have broken this down into two separate tables.)

Malaysia Airlines

So, there you have it! A full breakdown of the percentages for each partner airline. That is one of the great things about each Airline having Partners, as British Airways do not fly to every city in the world; it means you can book with another airline and still receive those all important Tier Points.
But wait, what about Avios? Surely you can also earn Avios on Partner Airlines? Well, well, well, look at you asking all the right questions! You absolutely can, but with you being able to earn Avios on over 36 airlines, I am afraid you are going to have to wait for another post on this subject.
