Here in the UK, we have a few iconic summer traditions, and Wimbledon undoubtedly sits at the top of the list. Every July, SW19 becomes the beating heart of British sport, as tennis greats from across the globe descend on London for two weeks filled with gripping matches, Pimms, and (of course) strawberries and cream.

If you hold an American Express card keep reading to find out how you can get hold of some tickets for this year's tournament.

Wimbledon 2025: The Ultimate Guide to American Express and Barclays Perks

Wimbledon isn’t just for the superfans and A-listers, it’s truly an experience for everyone.

This year, I had the pleasure of spending a day at The Championships with my mum, exploring the incredible perks on offer for American Express and Barclays customers, as well as being courtside for an exceptional match between Great Britain's Cameron Norrie and the Frances Tiafoe from the United States.

I've already written about what the Perks are that you get with American Express and Barclays, check out those if you haven't done so already. This is my review on what we found, and how you can make the most of them too.

Getting There: The Amex Shuttle Bus Secret

Our Wimbledon adventure kicked off in style thanks to a little-known American Express perk. If you’re an Amex cardholder, you and a guest can hop on the complimentary shuttle bus from Wimbledon Station directly to The Championships, no bus ticket needed. We didn’t see this advertised anywhere, so consider this your insider scoop. Just make sure you register your American Express on the MyWimbledon App before you go as the Wi-Fi was a little patchy around the site.

We arrived at Gate 12 around 10:10am with zero queue to get in. Top tip: don’t stress about getting there super early. I’ve queued at 9:30am before and it really isn’t necessary. Just make sure you bring valid ID to verify your tickets and you’ll breeze through.

Inside the Grounds: The American Express Experience

So, we recently did an article all about the free British Airways American Express card. Do you want to know one of the best things about that card? At Wimbledon, it holds the same power and value as the Platinum Card which costs £650 a year. Your free American Express will get you all of the below perks mentioned. Now that is Game, Set and Match in my opinion.

Our first stop was the Amex Experience in the Southern Village, and let me just say, it was one of the most impressive brand activations I’ve ever seen. I used to work in sponsorship management for various different events, so I’ve seen my fair share of activations in my time. What Amex achieved with the Amex Experience was truly flawless and is everything an event or a sponsor wants.

Before we dive into the whole experience though, they had this fantastic map of where you could find all American Express activations:

It's little things like this that are so great when you are at an event

Right, back to the Amex Experience. Anyone can explore the area, with a fantastic mix of free activities and cardmember-only exclusives. I really liked the fact that anyone can do the majority of these activities. Here’s what was on offer:

  • Two immersive photo opportunities... here is me doing one of them (cringe)

  • Tennis Clash Game (think: Wii Tennis)

  • Free postcard sending to anywhere in the world

  • Centre Court Challenge Game

If I wasn't so worried about looking like an idiot I probably would have had a go!
  • Aces of the Ages quiz to test your Wimbledon knowledge

If you’ve registered your American Express card on the Wimbledon App, you can also pick up a personalised tennis ball with one of six custom designs.

To celebrate Wimbledon 2025, Amex has partnered with British tennis star Katie Boulter to launch an exclusive Amex Tennis Charm Collection, a fun way to add a little “Tennis Core” flair to your look.

Cardmembers can collect one charm per day whenever the Experience is open, and non-cardholders can also get one between 12pm and 1pm. A win for everyone!

Retail Therapy: Polo Ralph Lauren and 20% Off for Amex Customers

A trip to Wimbledon wouldn’t be complete for me without a browse through the Polo Ralph Lauren boutique. My mum and I had a wander (and a bit of a drool) over the gorgeous pieces.

Ralph Lauren always just get it right with their Sponsorship activations and the Wimbledon Boutique was on point

I didn’t make a purchase on the day, but I did fall in love with a scarf, which I now plan to buy online using the 20% discount for Amex cardholders. Just use your card at checkout on the Wimbledon Shop before 21st July to redeem.

The Amex Pavilion: Rooftop Views and Complimentary Treats

Next, we made our way up Henman Hill (or Murray Mound, depending on your era) to visit the American Express Pavilion.

The Amex Pavilion is on the top of Henman Hill which unrivalled views

The space is divided into two levels: a ground floor open to all, and a rooftop terrace exclusive to Amex cardmembers.

There are two queues for getting into the Pavilion

We waited about five minutes to access the rooftop, and it was absolutely worth it. With serene views across the hill and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a breather. There’s also a bar serving a variety of drinks, cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks (note: they aren’t complimentary), plus a few more photo ops.

It may have been a little cloudy to start with but the sun soon came out

One not-to-miss freebie: a complimentary ice cream with an extra topping from the Pavilion (while supplies last). It was a bit chilly when we visited, so we passed in favour of coffee, but it’s a lovely treat on a warmer day.

Cardmember Lounge: The Only Missed Opportunity

We made several attempts to visit the Amex Cardmember Lounge, which was right next to Gate 12, but unfortunately, each time we arrived, the queue was closed due to high demand. This was the only downside to an otherwise stellar American Express presence.

The lounge is situated right by Gate 12.

It’s worth noting that the lounge is meant to offer complimentary gifts and exclusive items, but who knows what treasures lay inside. In future, a booking system might be a helpful improvement, perhaps a mix of timed slots and walk-ins to ensure fair access. Just a suggestion for the folks at Amex in the unlikely event that they are reading this!

It is open from 10:30am to 7:00pm daily with last entrance at 6:30pm... if you manage to get in!

Barclays Perks at Wimbledon 2025

American Express weren’t the only sponsor delivering the goods. Barclays, the official banking partner of Wimbledon, had a whole host of perks for their customers too.

Their star attraction is the Champions’ Corner at Aorangi, where you can watch players train from a special viewing platform, up close and personal.

  • Barclays Premier customers can pick up a complimentary Barclays tote bag and an official programme.

  • Barclays Business Banking customers receive a drink voucher to redeem at any onsite bar.

  • You can also grab free strawberries and cream, and if you’re queueing for tickets, visit the Barclays Clubhouse in The Queue for a free coffee and pastry.

Unfortunately, I’m not a Barclays customer, so I wasn’t able to try these out myself. But I wasn't too disappointed in missing out on Strawberries and Cream as Wimbledon have kept the price the same since 2010 at £2.50 and it is well worth that to experience such a time honoured tradition as this! Bonus tip, they do plant based cream, you just have to ask for it!

The Perfect Wimbledon Day

The rest of our day was spent doing what Wimbledon does best, watching top-tier tennis and sipping on Pimms in the sunshine. The atmosphere, the energy, and the world-class hospitality make this event a true British treasure. There really isn't anything like it!

Whether you’re an Amex or Barclays customer (or lucky enough to be both), don’t miss the chance to make the most of these fantastic perks while you soak up the spirit of Wimbledon 2025.

2026 Hospitality Ticket Pre-Sale

If you’re an American Express Cardmember, you’ve got a head start for 2026. Enjoy early access to exclusive hospitality tickets for The Championships, before they go on general release.

Here’s how it works: simply use your American Express Card to secure an official premium experience, think reserved seats on Centre Court or No.1 Court on your chosen day during Wimbledon Fortnight, paired with award-winning hospitality from Wimbledon’s Official Hospitality Partner, Keith Prowse.

Whether it is No. 1 Court or Centre Court you go for, you are guaranteed exceptional tennis

The presale for Wimbledon 2026 opens on Monday 14 July at 2PM BST, with packages available while demand lasts, and trust us, they will go quickly. This is not by any means a cheap option, the 2025 prices started at £1,025pp + VAT, but if you want guaranteed Centre Court tickets then it might be the right decision for you.

Was My Day Enhanced?

Honestly, yes!

American Express absolutely knocked it out of the park (or court in this case) with their activations. I loved the Amex Experience and all that it offered card members, as well as the Pavilion. However it struck a wonderful balance by also offering perks to non card members whilst teasing all there is to offer with getting an American Express Card.

If you want tickets for this year's tournament American Express are holding a second round of additional ticket purchasing via This Link at 10:00 on Saturday 5th July 2025. You will need a valid American Express to complete the transaction and the name on your card must match your My Wimbledon account.
