If you hold either of the British Airways American Express cards, there's a new competition in town. British Airways and American Express are continuing to mark 25 years of their partnership with an Avios competition. There's a 1,000,000 Avios top prize and a further 25 prizes of 100,000 Avios each up for grabs.

25 years of British Airways American Express cards
These cards have been around longer than some of you, and to commemorate that, British Airways and American Express have promised a full year of anniversary celebrations. We've already seen them issue 25% bonuses on both of the BA Amex cards, and now they've followed it up with this frankly huge competition. We look forward to seeing what more is to come.
How does the competition work?
Here's what you need to know:
What's on offer: One grand prize of 1,000,000 Avios and 25 runner-up prizes of 100,000 Avios each.
Who can enter: Main cardholders of either the British Airways American Express Credit Card or the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card. Supplementary cardmembers are not eligible to enter.
How to enter: Visit www.promoentries.com/ba-amex-25th-anniversary and complete the online entry form. The details you submit must match those held on your BA Amex card account.
Entry window: Entries close at 23:59 BST on 27 May 2026.
No purchase necessary: You do not need to make any purchase to enter.
One entry per person: Maximum one entry and one prize per cardmember.
Account status: Your card account must not be in arrears at the time of winner selection.

If you've seen anyone online getting sniffy about how it doesn't seem legit, I would suggest doing due diligence like I did and check the email address (just like your workplace's mandatory cyber training tells you to do). It's the same one your monthly statement emails come from! Keep your hats on, lads!
What could you do with 1,000,000 Avios?
So for me, that is three trips to New Zealand, but for those of you a little less obsessed with that country, here are a few ideas of what you could do with these points.
Go around the world in style: Remember, Avios isn't just British Airways. Iberia, Aer Lingus, Qatar Airways, Vueling and Loganair all use Avios, and you can transfer points instantly and for free on the Avios website.
Fill up the family's travel fund: One million Avios could cover flights for the whole family for a while. School holidays, half-terms and milestone trips all covered from a single prize win.
Upgrades for the next decade: If you prefer to use Avios for upgrades rather than pure reward flights, a million Avios represents an extraordinary haul of potential.
Become Loganair's favourite customer: A single on any Loganair flight is 6,500 Avios, meaning your 1,000,000 Avios could buy you 153 flights on Loganair.
Is this competition actually worth getting excited about?
Swings and roundabouts, my friend. Yes, there is only one grand prize of 1,000,000 Avios, but there are also 25 chances to win 100,000 Avios, which is absolutely not to be sniffed at. Most credit card promotions offer modest bonuses that might cover a short-haul hop or contribute towards a longer trip if you're lucky. A million Avios, on the other hand? I'd love to get my mitts on them.
The bottom line: it takes about 60 seconds to enter, there's no purchase required, and 26 people are going to walk away with a lovely little Avios haul. Go and enter, I already have!
