Free points: 1,000 free Avios for a Hilton stay before the end of August, and get bonus Nectar points by linking to Marriott Bonvoy

Two quick ones for you here!

Hilton and Qatar Airways are giving away 1,000 Avios if you complete a Hilton stay between 1 June and 31 August 2026. Register, stay, wait for the points to turn up.

It pays out once, on your first qualifying stay in that window. Not per night, not per stay.

What you need

Two memberships: Hilton Honors and Qatar Airways Privilege Club. If you've only got the Hilton side, you can make a Privilege Club account here for free.

Then three things have to line up:

• Register for the offer on the Hilton landing page at some point during the promotion.

• Add your Privilege Club number as a preferred travel partner in your Hilton Honors account before you check out of that stay.

• Make sure the name on your Hilton account, your booking and your Privilege Club account all match.

That second one is the bit you're more likely to miss if you rush. You need to go into your account preference, add Qatar Airways here and tick Preferred, before you check out. Skip this step and the Avios never arrive (because they won't know where to go!).

Book direct with Hilton on a normal rate, and the Avios land in your Privilege Club account within eight weeks of checkout.

Remember that Avios move freely between Qatar, BA, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Finnair, so you can shift the 1,000 wherever you actually need them.

More free points, this time from Nectar

Hilton aren't the only ones giving points away before the end of summer

Until Tuesday 30 June, link your Nectar and Marriott Bonvoy accounts for the first time and you'll get 1,000 Nectar points, double the usual 500.

And remember that Nectar can be converted to Avios. The standard rate is 400 Nectar to 250 Avios, which makes your 1,000 free points worth about 625 Avios. (You convert in blocks of 400, so in practice you'd move 800 now and hold the last 200 for next time.)

Once you're linked, you pick up 500 Nectar after each of your first three paid Marriott stays, up to 1,500 more. Another 900-odd Avios if you send those across as well.

Rather keep them as points to in Sainsburys? They'll be worth around a fiver at the checkout.
