Amex adds three new benefits to the Platinum card
If you hold an American Express Platinum Card, there are three new benefits that have been added to your card today.
lululemon: £75 back, twice a year, when you spend £150 or more
Oura: £150 back, once a year, when you spend £300 or more on an Oura Ring
Calm: a free Calm Premium subscription, normally £49.99 a year
All three of these new benefits run until 19 October 2029, so they'll at least be with us for three years.
This brings the UK version of the Platinum card into closer alignment with the US version, which gained lululemon and Oura credits last year.
The UK versions are a tad less generous, though, so it's worth knowing how each one works before you just assume they're the same as the US credits.

lululemon: £75 back, twice a year
Spend £150 or more at lululemon on your Platinum Card and Amex will give you £75 back as a statement credit. It's effectively half price on your first £150.
The allowance resets on 1 January and 1 July. The £150 doesn't have to be one purchase, so a pair of leggings in March and a jacket in May both count towards it. But you will only get the credit once your half year spend accumulates to £150 or higher.
The small print:
It works in UK lululemon stores (not outlets) and on lululemon.co.uk (so go via the Avios store to earn points on your purchase, and then pay with your Platinum card to get the credit)
All gift cards, or vouchers bought online don't count, so no trying to be sneaky this way!
Anything you don't use in a six-month period is lost
If you return the items, the credit can be taken back
Buy at least a day before the period ends, as last-day purchases may not process in time
You will get the money back as statement credit, which should appear within 30 days.
If you enrol now on your Amex app, you still have until 31 December to use this period's £75. Looks like Helena is getting lululemon for Christmas...
Oura: £150 back, once a year
If you've never come across one, an Oura Ring is a smart ring that tracks your sleep, activity and heart rate.
Spend £300 or more on ouraring.com in a single transaction and you'll get £150 back. Unlike lululemon, this has to be one purchase, so you can't build up to £300 over several orders.
The allowance resets 1 January. The other rules mirror the lululemon credit: UK delivery, paid in pounds, bought directly from Oura, no third parties, and the credit can be clawed back if you return the ring.
In my opinion, this one only makes sense if you were already thinking about a smart ring. Oura charges a monthly fee on top of the up-front cost for most of the app's features, and the credit doesn't cover that.
Calm: a free Premium subscription
Calm is a meditation and sleep app, with guided meditations, sleep stories and soundscapes, with a premium membership normally costing £49.99 a year.
This is the easiest of the three, as there's nothing to spend to get the credit. It's also the only one open to supplementary cardholders, so a partner with a Platinum supplementary card can claim their own.
Enrolment for this perk works a bit differently compared to the other two. Instead of enrolling through the Amex app, you'll find this one in the Amex Experiences app (this is where you'll also find enrolment for your Times subscription). Find the Calm benefit, tap Enrol Now, and you'll be sent to a Calm registration page where you can create an account or log in to an existing one.
If you already pay for Calm, log in with your existing account through the Amex page, and you should get prompted to switch it over to the Amex version.
Less generous than the US, but we pay less for the card
American cardholders got lululemon and Oura credits in September 2025, and theirs are simpler to use.
UK Platinum | US Platinum | |
lululemon | £75 back every six months, only after spending £150 | Up to $75 back every quarter, no minimum spend |
Oura | £150 back on a single £300+ order | Up to $200 back on a ring each year |
Annual fee | £650 | $895 |
The biggest difference is the minimum spend, as in the US there is no minimum spend to trigger the credit. Here, you have to spend £150 to get £75 back.
In fairness, we do pay less for the card. The US fee recently went up by $200 to $895, while ours stays at £650. The US card does come with a long list of other credits we don't get. These include a $600 hotel credit, $200 of Uber Cash, a $120 Uber One credit, a $200 airline credit, a $219 CLEAR+ credit, $300 for digital entertainment and $300 for Equinox. It also earns 5 points per dollar on flights booked directly with airlines, compared to our 1 point per pound.
If you want more features added to your card, I would just caution be careful what you wish for, as they may decide to hike the card fee too.
Everything else you get with Amex Platinum
Just as a reminder, here's what else comes with it:
1 Membership Rewards point per £1, or 2 per £1 on Amex Travel
Up to £200 a year of dining credit in the UK, plus £200 abroad (£100 every six months for each)
Access to over 1,550 airport lounges, including Amex Centurion lounges and Priority Pass, with one free guest
Eight free UK Priority Pass lounge pre-bookings a year in 2026 and 2027
Hotel status with Hilton (Gold), Marriott Bonvoy (Gold Elite), Accor (Gold), Melia (Gold) and Radisson (Premium)
Fine Hotels + Resorts bookings with free breakfast, 4pm check-out and upgrades when available
A US$100 hotel credit on two-night stays booked through The Hotel Collection
Car hire status with Hertz and Avis
Worldwide travel insurance for you, your partner and children under 25
Purchase and refund protection
A free digital subscription to The Times and Sunday Times
Extra savings at Bicester Village and its sister outlets
One free supplementary Platinum card (£285 each after that)
I recently put a video out on Instagram showing you how you can realistically get over £1,400 of value back from a Platinum card, and that was even before you factor in any value you get from the points.
Enrol first, then shop
I'd treat these as nice extras rather than a reason to get the card. If you already shop at lululemon or fancy an Oura Ring, they're benefits worth having. If you don't, the value you'll get from the Platinum card hasn't changed.
If you plan to use any of it, remember to enrol before you spend. Those lululemon leggings you bought the day before you enrolled won't earn you a penny back.
And if the US version of the card is anything to go by, these might not be the last new credits we see.
