Ooooh, who doesn’t love a good airport lounge moment? Whether you’re a frequent flyer or an occasional traveller, few things feel as luxurious as sinking into a comfy seat with a cold drink in an air-conditioned escape from the airport chaos.
Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Club Lounge, International Koh Samui Review
And on our recent trip flying back to Singapore, that’s exactly what I needed - enter the Blue Ribbon Club Lounge at Koh Samui Airport. We were flying from Koh Samui to Singapore on Bangkok Airways, you can read our review of this amazing little airline here.

How I Got Lounge Access: Thanks, Sam (and DragonPass!)
So here’s the deal - we were flying Economy with Bangkok Airways, so I got access thanks to Sam’s DragonPass membership, which comes as a perk with his Avios Plus Barclaycard. If you’re not familiar, DragonPass is one of those global lounge networks that gives you access to hundreds of airport lounges, including this one.

Other ways of accessing this lounge include:
Business Class tickets
Buying access via Bangkok Airways for 950 ฿
Lounge Key
Priority Pass
Feeling Rough? The Lounge Was My Lifesaver
Honestly, I wasn’t feeling my best that day. Achy, lethargic, and just completely drained. But the moment I stepped into the lounge, it was like a little oasis of calm. 60 minutes of peace, quiet, and air-conditioned bliss was exactly what I needed before our flight. Sam went off to get cool footage as this airport is the prettiest in the world in my opinion! See here to read our review of this amazing airport!

Five Pros and a Con?
Comfy Vibes
The cream rattan furniture instantly gives island resort vibes, but it's not just for show – it’s actually super comfy. Ideal when your body needs a break. There is plenty of seating, set up in groups of 2, 4 and 6, so great for solo travellers and families alike.

Heavenly Air Conditioning
After sweating it out in Koh Samui’s tropical heat, the air conditioning was pure bliss. Cool, quiet, and not overly crowded – exactly the kind of place you want to be when you’re not feeling 100%.
Decent Drink Selection
There’s a good range of soft drinks and water – no alcohol during our visit, but hydration was all I was after, so no complaints there. Everything from water, fruit juices, iced teas and Pepsi in the little fridge. Plus a good range of teas and coffees from a coffee machine.

Some of the furniture was a little worn, mainly the cabinet housing the coffee and tea options, but the main thing was it was clean and tidy everywhere.

Allergy-Friendly Snacks
The food whilst being a great thing to be able to access was essentially the same as the complimentary food stand that happened to be at our international gate which was interesting. The food consisted of pastries, sandwiches, light bites and a dim sum steamer… which was great. There were also two hot food options, if you so wished, which you could order from the staff in the lounge. However the big shoutout goes to their allergen labelling system. It was on everything, every single item of food – something I wish more lounges took seriously. A small touch, but important for travellers with food allergies and intolerances, like myself.
Free WiFi
As you book in you are given a little paper slip for a password protected free WiFi. There is also free WiFi in the airport, where you have to put in your passport number and email address to log in, which seemed a bit strange to have to use your passport number.

No Toilets Inside
This was the only real downside – no toilets in the lounge itself, which means you’ll need to pop back out to the main terminal. It just felt a bit odd to have this lovely space but not then include toilets in it.
Is the Blue Ribbon International Lounge at Koh Samui Worth It?
As we conclude this Bangkok Airways Blue Ribbon Club Lounge, International Koh Samui Review, if you’ve got DragonPass, access via Bangkok Airways, or lounge entry bundled with your flight – then absolutely yes, this lounge is worth it. For a smaller regional airport, it’s a surprisingly lovely place to relax pre-flight. Even though my stay was brief, the calm atmosphere, cool temps, and comfortable seating made a world of difference. For me this was perfect, and was just what I needed given I wasn’t feeling 100%.

If, however, you have to pay additional money to get into here, free food and drink can be found outside of the lounge at Gates 6 and 7 for all passengers, so whilst free entry is worth it, paying for entry may not be the best move.
