Iberia Launches Brief 40% Avios Redemption Sale

Iberia is running a brief sale offering up to 40% off Avios redemptions. The booking window is tight, from now until 26 January, but if you've been eyeing an Iberia redemption, it's worth a look.
The discount applies to flights departing between 19 January and 24 March 2026 on routes operated by Iberia, Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum. As usual with these promotions, taxes and surcharges aren't discounted, so you'll still pay the full cash component.

What's Not Included?
The Iberia Air Shuttle (their high-frequency Madrid-Barcelona route), Vueling flights, and LEVEL are all excluded. You'll also need to book directly with Iberia. This promotion can't be combined with other Avios offers.

One thing Iberia's announcement doesn't clarify is which specific routes get the full 40% discount versus the "up to 40%". You'll need to search on their website to see the actual saving for your chosen route.
How Can You Transfer Avios to Iberia?
If you've got Avios sitting in your account BA Club account, you can move them to Iberia instantly and at no cost through avios.com. Just log in, select "Move Avios" and transfer between your BA Club and Iberia Plus accounts. The transfer is immediate, so you can book right away.
You can also transfer Avios from Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways, and Vueling.
Can You Use Your Companion Voucher?
Not this time.
To use your Companion Voucher you need to book via British Airways. As this promotion is only available when booked through Iberia, this means you won't be able to take advantage of this specific up to 40% off deal with your Companion Voucher. You'll need to decide whether the voucher or the Avios discount offers better value for your particular trip.
Is Iberia Avios Sale Worth It?
Iberia's Avios redemptions are already good value, particularly for long-haul business class to the Americas. A 40% discount could make them genuinely excellent, assuming you can find availability during the promotional travel dates. If I needed to travel, and all the stars aligned, I'd definitely be booking.
