The Breakdown: Limited Time American Express and Avios Hotel Offer
When booking a hotel using Avios Hotels you will already get 10 Avios per £1 spent. So by saving this offer from American Express to your card you will get an additional 5 bonus Avios per £1 when you book online at Avios Hotels
That’s 15 Avios for every £1 you spend.
Not only that, but by paying with your British Airways American Express you will earn an additional 1.5 Avios per £1 spent, or 1 Avios per £1 spent if you hold the free version.
So, to do the maths for you, for this example lets say your spending £1,000 on "Hotel X":
10,000 Avios from booking through Avios Hotels
5,000 Avios from the American Express offer
1,500 Avios for spending using your British Airways Premium Plus American Express (1,000 Avios for the free version)
That's a maximum of 16,500 Avios back on a £1,000 booking! Consider a return to Prague is 19,500 Avios; well, you're almost there!
How to Claim Your Bonus Avios in 3 Easy Steps
1. Save the Offer to Your Amex
Go to your American Express online account or mobile app and save the Avios Hotels offer to your eligible Card. Don’t skip this step - if it’s not saved to your Card, you won’t get the bonus
2. Log In to Avios Hotels
Once you’re in the Club, log in to Avios.com using your Club details. You’ll find the hotel booking portal right there , ready and waiting.
3. Book Online Before 21 July 2025
Book a pre-paid hotel stay via Avios Hotels using your saved Card. The bonus Avios will start adding up with every pound you spend.
That’s it! Check in, chill out, and watch the Avios roll in.
The Small Print (But Still Important)
Offer only applies to pre-paid hotel bookings made in GBP online at Avios Hotels.
The offer is only available for British Airways American Express cards.
The hotel must charge your Card by 21 July 2025.
Your bonus Avios could take up to 30 days to appear on your Amex account — then they’ll transfer to your Club as normal.
Third-party payments, in-hotel spend, and pay-on-arrival bookings are excluded.
