British Airways Announce How to Earn Tier Points Via Credit Card Spend
British Airways has finally delivered on its promise to allow British Airways American Express Premium Plus (not the free one) cardholders to earn Tier Points through spending, a long-awaited perk first hinted at in late 2024.
Back in December, when BA announced sweeping changes to its Executive Club Tier Points system, shifting the focus toward a spend-based model rather than purely distance or fare class. These changes officially took effect on 1st April 2025, but notably, details on earning British Airways Tier Points through credit card spend were missing, until now.
The airline has now confirmed that the benefit is live, with Tier Points awarded on qualifying spend between 18th June 2025 and 1st February 2026:
750 Tier Points after spending £15,000
An extra 750 Tier Points at £20,000
A final 1,000 Tier Points at £25,000
To participate, cardholders must enrol via their American Express online account or app by 25th January 2026. Only spending made after enrolment, but before 1st February, counts toward the thresholds.
As a gesture of goodwill, existing cardholders are being notified by email that they will automatically receive 500 Tier Points “as a thank you for their loyalty.”
It remains unclear whether this earning structure will continue in future collection years. However, BA has indicated that there will be “further opportunities to earn Tier Points using the card starting in April 2026,” suggesting the benefit may evolve.

Riyadh Air Partner with Blacklane for Chauffer Service
Riyadh Air has announced a new partnership with chauffeur service Blacklane. The collaboration marks a key step in Riyadh Air’s mission to deliver a premium travel experience, both in the air and on the ground.
As part of the partnership, eligible Business Class and Business Elite passengers, along with select loyalty members, will enjoy complimentary Blacklane chauffeur service within a 50km radius of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. Travel will be in luxury vehicles, with booking fully integrated into the Riyadh Air reservation platform.
Beyond Riyadh, guests can also book Blacklane’s services at their destination through Riyadh Air, including airport transfers, intercity journeys, and on-demand in-city rides.
Chauffer service is nothing new as a part of Business Class tickets. From Heathrow, Emirates offer it to First and Business Class customers with 70 miles. Virgin Atlantic used to offer this service, but it was cut during the Covid-19 pandemic.
