Looking for a stylish, well-located hotel in Singapore without the Marina Bay Sands price tag? Oasia Downtown might just be the perfect fit.

The final stop on our two-week adventure brought us back to the vibrant city of Singapore. But this time, instead of skirting the city’s edges, we dove right into its urban core with a three-night stay at the Oasia Downtown Singapore, a lush, architectural marvel nestled conveniently near Chinatown.
While we dream of one day sipping cocktails at Raffles or dipping our toes in the iconic Marina Bay Sands infinity pool, we were genuinely thrilled to uncover the charm, value, and comfort of Oasia Downtown. So here is is, our Oasia Downtown Singapore Hotel Review.
How Did We Book?
For this hotel we booked direct utilising a sale that was only available through their website, and not through Avios Hotels, Booking.com etc. Per night, for a Club Room, averaged £195 (SGD 340). This booking was paid for in Singapore Dollars, so to get the best exchange rate, and to earn points along the way, we used our Hilton Honors Plus debit card. This card gets up 3 points per £1 spent in foreign currency, netting us 1,755 Hilton Honors points for this three night stay.
Apply for the Hilton Honors Plus debit card before 14th August to get an uplifted bonus of 30,000 Hilton Honors points instead of the usual 10,000. Click here to find out more.
Oasia Downtown Singapore Hotel Review: Location, Location, Location
Oasia Downtown is brilliantly positioned just a short stroll from two MRT stations, making it a breeze to explore every corner of the city. Whether you're heading to the Gardens by the Bay, Orchard Road, or Sentosa, you're never far away.

We arrived via Grab from Changi Airport and were instantly struck by the building’s unique, eco-forward design. Unlike the surrounding concrete giants, Oasia’s facade is alive - literally. The skyscraper is wrapped in greenery, climbing vines, and open-air spaces that give it a living, breathing presence on the skyline.
A First Impression That Wows
Our journey began at the ground floor turning circle, where we were promptly directed to the 12th floor lobby for check-in. The process was quick, efficient, and friendly - just what we needed after a long travel day.
The Room: Club Level Comfort & Style
We booked a Club Room, and it was a delight from the moment we walked in. Cool, airy, and tastefully designed, it had everything we needed and more.

As you walked in, the bathroom is directly on your left. It was very well situated, with a fantastic bath, wet room shower and the usual sink and toilet.

It was sparkling clean, with great water pressure and lovely amenities. The dividing walls between the bath and the bed are glass and can be slid across... the glass is a little see-through which was fine for Sam and I, but if you are with friends this could prove awkward!

On the right of the front door is a huge wardrobe, complete with slippers, bath robes, hairdryer etc and plenty of hangers.

There is also a cupboard which houses the mini bar including coffee, TWG Tea (the good stuff), snacks, and drinks. Following the cupboard there is a desk, and then a useful shelf for bags.
The Super King bed was truly delightful, with great pillows, soft sheets and a lovely duvet. We slept like logs in this room, it was great. The views out to China Town were really good also.

All in all the room was perfect for our needs. We did have a slight issue with key cards which was rather frustrating. On day two we got back from exploring, hot and sweaty and wanting to shove on swimwear and get in the pool. Only the battery on the door of our room’s card system had died. The staff were quick to sort it, but it was frustrating. The next day the key card just stopped working but again the staff were quick at replacing the card for us. This is a problem with the keycard system in hotels these days. Sometimes if they get too close to your phone they just stop working, and for other reasons too.
The Club Experience: Worth the Upgrade?
Absolutely. Here’s what our Club Room access included:
Exclusive access to Club Floor, Club Lounge and Infinity Pool on Level 21. The pool was stunning, but isn’t heated. Great when you are sweating buckets, but otherwise a little nippy, even in Singapore’s heat.

Complimentary breakfast at Club Lounge from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM. This is more western than the Ground Floor breakfast offering, but their egg menu is impressive.
Complimentary evening cocktails and canapés from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. We only utilised this once, but it was a nice thing to have.
All-day non-alcoholic refreshments, light snacks with superfoods, gluten-free, lactose-free and other special dietary options. This was great, easy access to soda water, soft drinks and teas and coffees was great. I didn’t see any lactose-free options though which is partly why we chose this room rate.
Complimentary access to wellness activities, subject to slots availability.
Complimentary 2 pieces of laundry per night (applicable for brand website bookings for a minimum 2 nights’ stay, non-cumulative)
Complimentary early check-in or late check-out (for brand website bookings)
Create your own wellness bowl at the continental breakfast from a selection of yoghurts, nuts, cereals, and grains
Ergonomic workstation amenities and light workout equipment (On request, subject to availability)
Other Hotel Amenities
There is also a roof top pool that anyone in the hotel can use. This is right at the top of the building.
The gym was decidedly average, with a lack of equipment and space, meaning anymore than two people in here, gave it a crowded feeling. Towels were provided, but there was no water station inside the gym, with you having to go back out into the lobby to grab a cup of water.
Breakfast Options: Ground Floor vs Club Lounge
Ground Floor Buffet
If you're a fan of local flavours, this is the one for you. Think congee, bao buns, noodles, and some classic Western items like pastries, fruit, and a cooked breakfast. Sam was a fan of the Egg Station, with eggs done any way you like. We ate here twice - it was solid, but not particularly memorable.
Club Lounge Breakfast (Level 21)
This was the more upscale, Western-style option. Think smoked salmon, avocado, cold cuts, and great egg dishes (scrambled, poached, omelettes, you name it). The coffee was noticeably better here too. We only tried it on our final day, but it was definitely the more refined option.
Final Thoughts: Would We Recommend Oasia Downtown?
Absolutely, without hesitation.
The Oasia Downtown Singapore checks nearly every box: convenient location, beautiful architecture, relaxing amenities, and a level of service that really impressed us.

Yes, the key card issues were a bit annoying, and the breakfast could be improved slightly, but those are small trade-offs considering the overall quality. Plus, you’re a five-minute walk from a local hawker centre, a great excuse to skip hotel breakfast and dive into Singapore’s legendary food scene.
The Verdict: A Hidden Gem in the Skyline
Design: Unique, green, and memorable.
Rooms: Cool, clean, and supremely comfortable.
Amenities: Well-thought-out and wellness-focused.
Location: Central, convenient, and surrounded by culture and cuisine.
Would we stay again? In a heartbeat. Oasia Downtown Singapore is an oasis in every sense, and we can’t wait to return.
