Remember to use your Amex Platinum dining credit before 1 July, or you lose it

Quick one if you're holding the Amex Platinum.

Have you used your dining credit this half of the year?

If you have, lovely, carry on.

If it's slipped your mind, consider this your nudge, because on 1 July it resets.

Every six months the Amex Platinum gives you £200 in dining credit to spend at participating restaurants. You get £100 to spend in the UK and £100 abroad, so £400 across the year.

The current half runs until 30 June, and nothing carries over into the next one, so it's use it or lose it, basically.

We used ours last year at The Ivy in Guildford as we may have left it a bit late to use it properly...

If the Platinum card is new to you, then you'll have to add both offers to your card first, either from the Offers tab in the Amex app, or by enrolling here. It only works on the primary card, not supplementary ones. And the money comes back as a statement credit a few days after you've eaten.

Not sure where to go? You could trawl Amex's official list. We think this interactive map is easier to use. Helena's also walked through how it all works here. And if nothing fancy is nearby, the Ivy has popped up in loads of regional towns, which is often the simplest way to spend your £100.

What else the Platinum gets you

While you're here it's worth remembering everything else that £650 a year is buying you:

  • Points on all your spend - Earn 1 Membership Rewards point for every £1 spent. Collect 2 MR Points for every £1 spent on Amex Travel.

  • Worldwide lounge access - Unlimited entry for you and a guest at over 1,550 airport lounges through Priority Pass, plus access to Centurion Lounges and other exclusive spaces. We recently reviewed the Centurion Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3 and it is easily one of the best lounges at the airport.

  • Hotel status upgrades - Complimentary elite status with major hotel groups such as Hilton Honors, Marriott Bonvoy, Melia, and Radisson Rewards.

  • Fine Hotels + Resorts -  Book from over 3,000 Fine Hotels + Resorts or Hotel Collection properties through Amex Travel for perks including a room upgrade on arrival when available, early check-in, and a US$100 credit to use towards eligible on-property charges such as dining and spa. The Hotel Collection requires a minimum two-night stay. Terms apply.

  • Travel credit - £250 annually for flight bookings made through Amex Travel.

  • Comprehensive insurance - Worldwide travel cover, car hire insurance, and purchase protection included (terms apply).

  • Amex Experiences & Lounge at The O2 - Special ticket access and use of the Amex Lounge.

  • Amex Offers - Tailored savings across leading brands, returned as statement credit.
