Up to 70% Bonus Virgin Points – Here’s Why It’s Worth a Look

Thinking about your next trip? Whether it’s somewhere tropical like the Maldives or a city you’ve been meaning to tick off (mine's San Francisco), having a healthy stash of Virgin Points can make it happen a lot sooner.

Right now, Virgin Atlantic are offering up to 70% bonus points when you buy or gift Virgin Points - and yes, that’s as generous as it sounds. But the best deal only runs from 9th to 23rd June 2025, so if you’re going to top up, now's the time to do it!

So, what’s the deal, how many bonus Virgin Points will I get?

Between 9th June and 23rd June 2025, here’s what you’ll get:

• Buy 5,000 – 24,000 points: 20% bonus

• Buy 25,000 – 69,000 points: 40% bonus

• Buy 70,000 – 124,000 points: 60% bonus

• Buy 125,000 – 200,000 points: 70% bonus

After 24th June, the bonus drops:

• Buy 5,000 – 24,000 points: 20% bonus

• Buy 25,000 – 69,000 points: 30% bonus

• Buy 70,000 – 124,000 points: 50% bonus

• Buy 125,000 – 200,000 points: 60% bonus

There is no bonus if you buy under 5,000 points, so aim higher if you want to make the most of it.

How much does it cost?

This offer is really nice and transparent, you can buy in increments of 1,000 Virgin Points costing £15 per 1,000, not including the bonus you'll get too! On top of that, there is a flat rate fee of £15 per transaction. So, up until 23rd June if you spend:

• £30 = 1,000 points (No Bonus)

• £90 = 5,000 points + 1,000 point bonus (20%)

• £375 = 25,000 points + 10,000 point bonus (40%)

• £1500 = 100,000 points + 60,000 point bonus (60%)

• £1875 = 125,000 points + 87,500 point bonus (70%)

After 24th June, if you spend:

• £30 = 1,000 points (No Bonus)

• £90 = 5,000 points + 1,000 point bonus (20%)

• £375 = 25,000 points + 7,500 point bonus (30%)

• £1500 = 100,000 points + 50,000 point bonus (50%)

• £1875 = 125,000 points + 75,000 point bonus (60%)

This is one of the best Virgin Points bonus we've seen with the bonus of up to 70% on offer. Buying points can work out nicely, especially if you’re topping up a balance for a redemption that’s just out of reach.

How do I buy these points?

1. Login/create your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Account

2. Go to "My Account"

3. For desktop, find "Buy Points, Gift Points, or Transfer Points" in the bottom left. For mobile, click more in the bottom right, and then find "Buy Points, Gift Points, or Transfer Points" in that menu

4. Click the dropdown, and select how many Virgin Points you would like to purchase

Look at how many bonus points you'd get!

A few quick rules

• You can buy or gift up to 200,000 points per year, in multiples of 1,000

• Bonus points usually show up within 24 hours

• You’ve got 14 days to cancel the purchase, as long as you haven’t spent any of the points

• You can’t buy or gift points if your current balance is zero. To get around this restriction, you can transfer in Tesco Clubcard or American Express Membership Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic, before purchasing.

Is it worth it?

If you’re sitting just shy of a flight, upgrade, or hotel stay, this is a decent way to get over the line. We have done the same before, being a few thousand away from what we needed for a Maldives flight redemption. Plus, Virgin Points never expire, so you’re not under pressure to spend them straight away.

Flights with Virgin Atlantic start at 6,000 points one way in economy, or you can bag a great deal on Upper Class like Helena who recently flew to New York on a flight paid with Virgin Points.

Just don’t hang around, the 70% bonus is only around until 23rd June. After that, it’s still a good deal... just not quite as good.
