Where Can I Fly With 50000 Avios?

If you've built up 50,000 Avios in your British Airways Club account, you're sitting on enough points for a proper return trip. Not as much as you used to be, mind. The December 2025 devaluation pulled long-haul economy out of reach at this level. But 50,000 Avios still unlocks a lot. Short-haul Club Europe across most of the network, return economy as far as Marrakech, Cairo or Tel Aviv, and on a good day a long-haul economy seat to Abuja or Jeddah if the cash fare suits you.
The trick is knowing what's actually within reach, and for that you'll want the British Airways Reward Flight Finder paired with our preferred award-search tool, SeatSpy. The two work hand in hand. BA tells you what a seat should cost. SeatSpy tells you when it's actually bookable.
But because we're a wonderful source of knowledge, we've also done the legwork. Below you'll find every BA destination that comes in at or under 50,000 Avios return, in either economy or Club Europe, at both off-peak and peak prices.
So, where can I fly with 50,000 Avios?

How Avios Pricing Works with British Airways
British Airways prices reward flights on distance. Short hops across the Channel sit in the lowest band. Mediterranean and longer European routes sit a tier above. Medium-haul to North Africa, the Middle East and the Canaries sits higher again. On top of that, BA runs a peak and off-peak calendar that broadly tracks the school holiday calendar. The same route swings between two fixed amounts depending on the date. No dynamic pricing here (yes Virgin Atlantic, we're looking at you).
The Reward Flight Finder on the BA website shows the exact Avios needed for your chosen route and cabin.
Finding Real Availability with SeatSpy
While the BA Reward Flight Finder tells you what a flight should cost, the challenge is finding dates when reward seats are actually available. That’s where SeatSpy comes into its own.
SeatSpy lets you see a year’s worth of reward seat availability in a single view. You can search by route, cabin class and date range, and the tool will instantly highlight when saver seats are open. Better still, you can set alerts so that when a seat on your chosen route becomes available, you’ll be notified right away.

This combination, using BA to see the price structure and SeatSpy to spot the seats, gives you the best chance of securing a return journey for 50,000 Avios or less.
Where 50,000 Avios Can Take You
In economy, 50,000 Avios covers the entire short-haul European network at off-peak and peak alike. It also stretches to medium-haul routes like Marrakech, Cairo, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Tenerife and the Canaries. Two long-haul routes also squeak in at 49,500 Avios off-peak return: Abuja and Jeddah. Both run close to the limit, and only at off-peak dates, but they're there if you need them.
In Club Europe, this band opens up the short-haul European network too. London to Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, Vienna, Dubrovnik, all bookable in business class for between 33,000 and 49,000 Avios return depending on date and distance. For mid-haul Club Europe sectors like Athens, Marrakech or Tenerife, you'll need a bit more (those sit above 50,000 return), but the core European network is well within reach.
A note on what's not on this list. Post-devaluation, BA's transatlantic and Middle East routes no longer fit. New York, Boston, Doha and Dubai were all roughly within reach before December 2025. They're now 55,000 Avios or more return in economy, even off-peak. If long-haul is what you're after, you'll either need a bigger balance or you'll need to look at Iberia, Aer Lingus or Qatar, which is exactly what our multi-airline Avios calculator is built for.
Where Can I Fly With 50,000 Avios - Return Prices in Avios
Surcharges vary widely. Ultra-short hops from London can be as little as 50p in fees. Longer sectors to North Africa or the Middle East typically carry £40 to £100 or more in taxes each way. Even with the surcharges, these routes can be far cheaper than the equivalent cash ticket, particularly close to departure or during school holidays.

Making the Most of Your 50,000 Avios
The real value lies not just in knowing the destinations, but also in being flexible. By using SeatSpy, you can see when reward seats open up and adjust your plans accordingly. That flexibility can be the difference between landing a return to Marrakech in Club Europe and missing out entirely.
It’s also worth remembering that BA offers multiple Avios & Cash combinations. Sometimes you can use fewer Avios and pay a higher cash amount, or vice versa. Always choose what feels right for you!
Why This Band Is Valuable
Choice of cabin: You’re not limited to economy. Short-haul business class redemptions fit neatly in this range.
Availability: Many of these flights operate multiple times per day from London, improving your chances of finding award seats.
Cash savings: Medium-haul leisure routes can be very expensive in cash on peak dates. Using 30–50k Avios can undercut these fares significantly.
Tips for Booking
Mix and match: You can book one way in Club Europe and one way in Euro Traveller (economy) to suit your schedule or budget.
Use the peak/off-peak calendar: Off-peak dates can shave thousands of Avios off the cost.
Check all airports: London City often has Club Europe availability when Heathrow doesn’t; Gatwick may also offer leisure routes not available from Heathrow.
Where Can I Fly With 50000 Avios? Bottom Line
If you've got a moderate Avios balance, the 30,000 to 50,000 return band is a sweet spot. Dozens of destinations across either economy or Club Europe, from sunshine breaks in the Med to city hops across Europe and a handful of mid-haul adventures in North Africa, Turkey and the Middle East. The post-devaluation reality is that long-haul economy is essentially out of reach at this level, but if your sights are set on Europe, 50,000 Avios still goes a long way.
