American Express at Wimbledon 2026: every Cardmember perk and freebie

Wimbledon is one of those things a British summer wouldn't be the same without. Two weeks of world-class tennis, far too much Pimm's, strawberries and cream, and an atmosphere you don't get anywhere else. This year it runs from Monday 29 June to Sunday 12 July.

If you've got an American Express Card in your wallet, there's a fair bit waiting for you on site at Wimbledon. I spent a day there last year going through it all, so here's what's on offer for 2026, and where the queues are worth it.

Crowds picnic on a grassy hill at a racecourse under cloudy skies, watching a giant screen; PIMM'S ON THE HILL visible.

First, the app

Everything runs through the app, so download the Wimbledon App before you go. From mid-June you tap the Amex banner, register as a Cardmember, and your perks unlock from there. Any eligible Amex does the job, including the no-fee British Airways American Express.

No Amex? Tap the same banner and fill in a quick form. You'll get an Amex badge that opens up a handful of the perks below, which is Amex's way of giving you a taste and hoping you fancy the full thing.

Do this part at home. The Wi-Fi around the grounds was hopeless when we visited, classic event issue right there, and you don't want to be standing at the gate watching a spinning wheel.

The Amex Pavilion on The Hill

You can't really miss the Pavilion, and you shouldn't. It's split over two levels.

The Lower Deck is open to anyone, Cardmember or not. There's soft serve ice cream, prizes to win, and a few bits of tennis history to wander round. On a warm day, go and get the ice cream. It's free.

The Upper Deck is the Cardmember bit: a rooftop bar with proper panoramic views, and you can bring up to two guests. We queued about five minutes to get up there, which is nothing for the view you get. The bar does cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks, but a heads up, you're paying for those.

The Amex Experience in the Southern Village

This one surprised me. It was open to everyone, and it was one of the better brand setups I've come across. As someone who used to work in Commercial at international sporting events, I know my stuff, and this was just above and beyond what I was expecting.

There was Wimbledon-themed games, a couple of photo spots, and a postcard station where you could send something to anywhere in the world. There was a tennis ball you could customise, and an Amex Tennis Charm to collect and add to your look. One per person, while they last.

The Cardmember Lounge behind No.3 Court

Behind No.3 Court there was a Cardmember Lounge with a terrace, room for you and two guests, a few giveaways, and a cocktail menu (you buy these too).

I'll be honest, this was the one thing we never managed to get into. Every time we walked over, the queue was closed because it was so busy. So if it's on your list, go early. Leave it until the afternoon and you might be out of luck like we were.

Free radios

Grab an Amex Radio and you've got live scores and commentary from every court in your pocket, which is handy when you're wandering between matches. They're free for Cardmembers from any Amex Kiosk on site. One each, while they last.

£20 back when you spend on site

If you enrol your card in the app, spend £140 or more on the grounds, you got £20 back as a statement credit. There should be a similar deal for eligible US and Australian Cardmembers.

Reserve a picnic before everyone else

Fancy a picnic on The Hill? Cardmembers get in first. The Amex presale for picnic reservations opens on 1 June, with general sale following on 8 June. Each picnic is built for two, comes in a reusable Wimbledon cool bag with a blanket, plates and cutlery, and you collect it on the day from above Court 18. Just order at least three days ahead.

The menus and booking are over on the Wimbledon picnic reservations page.

So, is it worth it?

A lot of this is open to everyone, which I liked, and the Cardmember extras are a nice touch rather than the whole point. Get there, register your card, grab a radio and an ice cream, and go find some tennis. The Pimm's is up to you.

Everything's listed on the American Express page if you want the full terms.
