Looking for ways to earn Avios points without flying? The Avios Store is a goldmine for Avios collectors who love online shopping. Whether you're a seasoned Club member or just starting to explore travel rewards, this guide will show you how to earn Avios online quickly and easily - just by making purchases you already planned to make.

If you’re already shopping online (who isn’t?), the Avios Store is one of the easiest ways to collect more Avios points without flying. With hundreds of top UK and global brands on offer and regular bonus point events, it’s a tool every Executive Club member should use.
So if you regularly shop at stores like ASOS, Apple, Boots, John Lewis, or Booking.com, you're just a few clicks away from earning hundreds - or even thousands - of Avios points per order.
And big old hint right here… this is how we get a large chunk of our Avios.
What is the Avios Store?
The Avios Store is a free-to-use online shopping portal that allows British Airways Club members to earn Avios points every time they shop online with participating retailers.
Instead of going straight to the brand’s website, you click through the Avios Store first - this ensures your purchase is tracked and your points are awarded.
How to earn Avios online?
Key benefit: You pay the same price, but earn bonus Avios on every qualifying transaction.
How to Earn Avios Online – Step-by-Step Guide
Follow these simple steps to start earning Avios while shopping online:
Visit the Avios Store: Go to www.avios.com/en-GB.
Log into your British Airways Executive Club account.
Search or browse for your favourite online retailer (e.g, ASOS, Apple, M&S).
Click through to the store from the Avios Store page - this step is crucial.
Shop and pay as normal on the retailer’s website.
Receive Avios points into your account once the purchase is confirmed.

Note: You must accept cookies, allow tracking, and avoid third-party promo code extensions such as Honey to ensure your points are tracked correctly.
How Many Avios Can You Earn Through the Avios Store?
Earning rates vary by retailer, typically either:
A specific number of Avios per £1 spent, or
A fixed number of Avios per transaction
Here’s a breakdown of current earning rates with top brands (April 2025):
Fashion and Beauty Brands | Avios per £1 |
ASOS | 1 |
New Look | 4 |
LOOKFANTASTIC | 10 |
Boots | 5 |
Home & Retail Brands | Avios per £1 |
John Lewis & Partners | 1 |
Habitat | 3 |
Currys | 2 |
B&Q | 4 |
Travel & Experience Brands | Avios per £1 |
6 | |
5 | |
Viator | 14 |
Avis | 5 |
Tech & Electronic Brands | Avios per £1 |
HP | 2 |

Apple (UK) | 3 |
Bonus Tip: Look out for limited-time promotions offering double or even triple Avios with select partners. Some examples at the moment are below:
Brand | Avios per £1 |
Deliveroo | 10, rather than 5 |
Harvey Nicholls | 20, rather than 6 |
Boots | 5, rather than 2 |
Lego | 12, rather than 4 |
We have managed to get some great Avios redemptions via the portal, and below are just a few of the great deals we’ve managed:
Vrbo: 7,374 Avios
Uswitch Home Insurance: 3,200
MyProtein: 1,428
How Long Does It Take for Avios to Post?
After your transaction:
Avios usually show as “pending” within 5 - 10 days.
Final crediting can take 30 - 45 days, especially if the product is returnable.
For travel-related purchases (e.g. Booking.com), points are often posted after the trip is completed.
Some retailers do participate in “Speedy Awards”, this credits your Avios balance within 24 hours.
Tips to Maximise Your Avios Earnings Online
Make the most of the British Airways Avios shopping portal with these smart strategies:
Always start your shopping at the Avios Store portal
Use an Avios-earning credit card (like the BA Amex) to stack rewards
Bookmark the portal
Save big purchases (like tech or travel) for high-return retailers
Just a Few Pointers
As always, with anything, there are caveats in that rewards are not calculated on postage / handling / delivery costs or associated purchase taxes in your region, which may include but not be limited to VAT, GST etc. These will be different for each store so please do check this when making any purchases. I can say we have never had an issue with Avios not being added to our accounts when following these steps.
Some retailers also have different rates of Avios earnt depending on the type of product purchased. Lets take Currys as an example; where you earn 2 Avios per £1 spent on Large Kitchen Appliances and all other products only let you earn 1 Avios per £1 on Gaming, Mobiles and Apple products. This is all listed extremely clearly on the Avios website, and I have to say that the whole process is so clearly shown also.
Lastly, should you return anything from an order, those Avios relating to that product(s) will be taken off of you.
Final Thoughts: Start Earning Avios Without Leaving Home
Using the Avios Store is a no-brainer for anyone looking to earn free flights, upgrades, or hotel stays. It takes only a few extra seconds to click through the portal, and you’re instantly earning more value from your online shopping.
Why is this such a great way to earn Avios? Well, you are still spending the same amount of money as you were going to, be it on car insurance, a new pair of trainers or a laptop. But instead, you are also earning yourself more points for your next flight. It is so easy, hassle free and honestly I mean it when I say this is how we get the vast majority of our points.
Ready to get started? Visit the Avios Store now and turn your next online order into your next getaway.
