Virgin Atlantic: Up to 70% Bonus Points Until 31st December 2025

Virgin Atlantic (courtesy of Virgin Red) are once again offering up to 70% bonus points when you buy or gift Virgin Points. The deal runs until 31st December 2025, giving you the whole month decide whether to top up your account.

So, what's the deal, how many bonus Virgin Points will I get?

Between now and 31st December 2025, here's what you'll get:

• Buy 5,000 – 24,000 points: 20% bonus

• Buy 25,000 – 69,000 points: 40% bonus

• Buy 70,000 – 124,000 points: 60% bonus

• Buy 125,000 – 300,000 points: 70% bonus

There is no bonus if you buy under 5,000 points, so aim higher if you want to make the most of it.

And here's something extra: they've reset your annual purchase limit! Normally you can only buy up to 200,000 points per year, but for this promotion the limit has been bumped up to 300,000 points. That means you can top up your account with significantly more points if you're planning something big.

How much does it cost?

This offer is really nice and transparent. You can buy in increments of 1,000 Virgin Points costing £15 per 1,000, not including the bonus you'll get too! On top of that, there is a flat rate fee of £15 per transaction.

So, until 31st December if you spend:

• £30 = 1,000 points (No Bonus)

• £90 = 5,000 points + 1,000 point bonus (20%)

• £375 = 25,000 points + 10,000 point bonus (40%)

• £1,050 = 70,000 points + 42,000 point bonus (60%)

• £1,500 = 100,000 points + 60,000 point bonus (60%)

• £1,875 = 125,000 points + 87,500 point bonus (70%)

This is one of the best Virgin Points bonuses we've seen, with the bonus of up to 70% on offer. Buying points can work out nicely, especially if you're topping up a balance for a redemption that's just out of reach.

How do I buy these points?

1. Login/create your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Account

2. Go to "My Account"

3. For desktop, find "Buy Points, Gift Points, or Transfer Points" in the bottom left. For mobile, click more in the bottom right, and then find "Buy Points, Gift Points, or Transfer Points" in that menu

4. Click the dropdown, and select how many Virgin Points you would like to purchase

5. Look at how many bonus points you'd get!

A few quick rules

• You can buy or gift up to 300,000 points during this promotion (usually 200,000), in multiples of 1,000

• Bonus points don't count towards the annual limit

• Bonus points usually show up within 24 hours

• You've got 14 days to cancel the purchase, as long as you haven't spent any of the points

• You can't buy or gift points if your current balance is zero. To get around this restriction, you can transfer in Tesco Clubcard or American Express Membership Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic before purchasing

• Check reward availability first if you're planning to put your points towards a specific reward

Is it worth it?

Look, Virgin seemingly runs this deal for around four months of the year, meaning its offered so consistently that they're essentially laughing at you if you buy points off them in the remaining eight months.

My advice, if you're a a little bit short of that redemption that you're looking to buy now, pull that trigger on buying some more points to top you up to what you need. If you were thinking about buying a flight with points in the next few months and think you might be a bit short, then buying a few thousand with this bonus may just help you hedge your bets over the coming months if you're unsure how many points you will get in that time.
