Today is the day that British Airways updates the taxes and fees for its Avios Reward Flights. We had a sneak peek from BA last week with some limited information on four specific routes, with the rest left for today
Now we've got the full picture.
The amount of Avios you'll need hasn't changed, as this changed back in December last year, just the cash element has changed this time around.

Look up your route
Here is a route lookup tool covering every BA destination from London. Type a city or IATA code to see how many Avios you need, plus the old taxes, the new taxes from today, and the percentage change per cabin.
First is not included as the taxes on these redemptions vary.

What to make of it
Look at the long-haul cabins you'll see a pattern emerging. Every Business has £50 tacked on each way, flat across every route. Premium Economy £30-40. Economy capped at £15.
That sounds painful if you think you'll need to double these for a return flight. But BA hasn't put through a proper cash-element rise since 2022, so even if you ignore the rise in fuel and Air Passenger Duty, this was always coming. And remember, Virgin have also recently raised their taxes/fees for their reward flights.
Are these price rises nice to see? No. Am I still going to collect Avios? Yes.
If I was you, I'd run your route through our British Airways Avios Value calculator (this too has been updated to reflect the new pricing) and you'll see where the value sits against a typical cash fare.
And if you've just had enough and want to try a different Avios airline, then our Avios Calculator is the only one online that compare all the different Avios airlines in one place.
