Hello! Hope you all had a good week. To top it off, here's your Points Well Made round up post! Today is your last day to get sign up for Tesco Clubcard to Virgin Points auto-conversion, bagging yourself a 5,000 Virgin Point bonus. This bonus does tend to repeat itself, so if you miss it, don't fret, we will let you know when it comes back round. You also have only two days left to get up to 40% off Iberia Avios redemptions!
Saturday's post was probably my favourite, and it's based on a question we get relatively frequently, "Which are better: Avios or Virgin Points?", so do make sure you go check that out!
Last night on out Instagram stories we put out asking for questions for our fortnightly Q&A, so any question you may have about miles and points, travel, or just want to hear out rambles, then please do pop them in the Q&A box on our Instagram stories.
If you want to get in touch to change your subscription to a weekly only email, or from weekly to daily, then please do email me sam@pointswellmade.co.uk.

If you’ve been meaning to set this up and haven’t quite got around to it, this is your nudge. With just one week to go, the Tesco Clubcard to Virgin Points auto-exchange bonus is about to disappear again – and it’s some of the easiest Virgin Points you’ll ever earn, they're essentially free!
Virgin and Tesco are currently offering 5,000 bonus Virgin Points to anyone who signs up to auto-exchange their Tesco Clubcard points into Virgin Points for the very first time. The deadline is 25th January 2026.

Iberia is running a brief sale offering up to 40% off Avios redemptions. The booking window is tight, from now until 26 January, but if you've been eyeing an Iberia redemption, it's worth a look.
The discount applies to flights departing between 19 January and 24 March 2026 on routes operated by Iberia, Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum. As usual with these promotions, taxes and surcharges aren't discounted, so you'll still pay the full cash component.

This question came from one of our followers on a fortnightly Instagram stories Q&A. But I thought for the benefit of all I'd write a post.
The short answer? Yes and no.

Amazon is absent from the Avios eStore, which some of your may think is bizarre given it's where most of us do half our shopping these days and surely they would want in? In truth, Amazon are so dominant in our lives they don't need to generally don't need to offer rewards to entice you in. Same-day delivery will do that for them.
But there are a few ways to squeeze some Avios out of your Amazon addiction.

Emirates Skywards announced today that members can now redeem Skywards Miles for Jet2 flights. On paper, this sounds like a useful addition for UK-based Emirates flyers. Redemptions start from 8,000 Skywards Miles including taxes and fees, and you can use miles for flights, meals, baggage, and seat selection.
The partnership gives Emirates Skywards' four million UK members access to Jet2's 14 UK airport bases (including the newly launched London Gatwick base from March 2026) with flights to Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Canaries. Sounding good?

British Airways Club has launched a new partnership this week with TodayTix, allowing members to earn Avios on theatre and live entertainment bookings.
On the surface, this looks like a win for Avios collectors who enjoy a night at the theatre, especially while the 500 Avios introductory bonus is still available. Dig a little deeper, however, and the earning structure is less generous (and less clear) than it first appears.
Here’s how the TodayTix Avios partnership works, how many Avios you can earn, and whether it’s actually the best way to collect Avios on theatre tickets.

If you're trying to decide where to focus your loyalty, you've probably found yourself wondering: should I be collecting Virgin Points or Avios? Which are better? Is Avios better than Virgin Points?
British Airways' Avios and Virgin Atlantic's Virgin Points represent two different philosophies: fixed-price reliability versus dynamic-pricing flexibility. By understanding these differences, you should get a better understanding of what will work for you. Let's break down which might suit you better.
